From his report it seems like he pretty much got a mix of luck and bad players. I find it unbelievable that he went undefeated. My favorite part was when he told everyone that he was only going to share his results with cmecks. As in: "I'm only gonna tell my results to the one person who will believe my shit wholesale"
Also, his opponents mulled to 4 three time in that report in 4 rounds!

lol, too funny - I just read Kamahl's 'report' and had to come over here ... anyone else buying what he's selling? Doesn't look like it from other posts about it. Seriously, where's he playing so I can go there and look like a way better player than I really am? I was super happy with my 6-4 result at SCG Worcester... a win away from money. I dunno...undefeated ...dude is either the biggest bs'er ever, plays with 200+ elementary schoolers, or is the single luckiest player ever. I'm leaning toward that first option.

Kamahl's tournament was probably a 5 round, cut to top 8 win a box, where he went 3-2, made top 8 on tiebreakers and promptly knocked out by a real deck.
Rather than face reality, he fabricated this amazing tale of victory that hinged completely on Purge the Profane.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

If I had slightly more motivation I'd make up some terrible Dega list (only just feasible enough to be real, but with some clearly bad choices...like his...only different) and post a 'tournament report' of even more epic victory...alas, there's not that much motivation here. It would amuse me though

I know some elementary schoolers with more strategy and deck-building sense than that guy.lol, too funny - I just read Kamahl's 'report' and had to come over here ... anyone else buying what he's selling? The more fitting scummy Magic player wording would be "what do you value your honor at?" followed by "sorry, can't do it, but I could trade for it at buylist if you have any shock lands."Honor is worth $2.17. Approximately. But TRW, isn't your honor worth more? Magic players are known for their high morals.

Travis is awesome and you should all read his article /Shameless plugs for new friends article.
I met him at the 5k I played in 2/3 weeks ago and he was a delight to be around. Blind people making bat jokes are just awesome.

I know the Admin can. What's up?Is there a way to reassign a thread to a new owner?

I've been feeling incredibly down and overwhelmed these past few days. It's gotten to the point where I feel like I need to take a step back from Magic. I'm not leaving, but I need to take a less active role for a while.I know the Admin can. What's up?Is there a way to reassign a thread to a new owner?
In the meantime, I'd like to hand off the Dos Rakis thread to someone who can update it and take better care of it than I can. Either you or Nuwen, who has done some good stuff lately, would be a better caretaker for the thread.

Regarding the Dos Rakis thread: give it to Nuwen - she's doing good works.

@raspy – Thank you.
@redthirst – And thank you as well. I'll pm Nuwen and ask her if she wants the Dos Rakis thread. Her work there has been impressive and well thought out.
@Fate – Thanks. I'm not going anywhere, per se, but I need a break from more competitive Magic.
I feel like lately I'm in a rut with my professional life and with Magic. It's a depressing fact that English and writing programs aren't valued that highly in academics. Students by and large just don't care, and administrators are largely indifferent to the challenges faced by English instructors. The pay is abysmal for the amount of work required. It makes going in to teach more and more difficult each week.
As for Magic, I feel like something is missing for me: fun. I've become too focused on winning rather than playing a game and having a fun time with it. I've been looking at different budget brews like shinbatsu's Boros Blitz list or an
idea I've had with all unleash creatures called Unleash Hell with Exava and Carnage Gladiators. They're not competitive, but they'd be fun to try. I love wacky interactions. That abomination of a list with Firemane Avengers and Legion's Initiative in a Dos Rakis shell gets crazy with an Avenger attacking with an Aristocrat for 12+ damage. The manabase is awful, but it somehow works. I want to do more nonsense like that, but I feel like I'm taking the competitive edge away from the clan with that stuff.
So, I want to take a step back and just focus again on having more fun. Other aspects of my life can be serious.

There's nothing wrong with making a janky list just to have fun. Hell, I do it all the time.@raspy – Thank you.

We all have to remember at some point that Magic is a game and we play it to have fun. If we're not
having fun, why are we playing?

Strider, take things slow man. Just like Valdarith said, it's a game, and games are supposed to be fun. I'm always brewing lists with wacky interactions and I keep them all on a spreadsheet. Shit, I saw a Soul of the Harvest deck last night that had crazy card drawing interactions. Guy was refilling his hand every single damn turn. I'm thinking about throwing it together now because it just looked incredibly fun.
Anyways, because I can:
They got a committee to get me off the block
'Cause I say my rhymes loud and I say 'em nonstop
Because being bad news is what we're all about
We went to White Castle and we got thrown out
I got my boy Mike D. - I got the King Adrock
I got the jammy with the ammo inside my sock
I shot homeboy but the bullet was a dud
So I reached in the Miller cooler - grabbed a cool Bud
