We had a discussion about it a couple of days ago. I personally prefer not collecting rares, and I told him that's what keeps many of his customers away. He replied that they were having so many people rare draft then drop before even playing a game and it was the only solution to the problem. They usually have low turnouts anyway since I'm in a smaller town, and a lot of people just go to the bigger LGS with SCG ties 20 miles down the road to do most of their gaming.Would never draft at a store that collects the rares. Punishes noobs to much which is something I disagree with.

Sacher's deck was well positioned and he played it very well, so this comment isn't meant to take anything away from his performance.
Game 3 of the finals was potentially a bad keep for the Jund player. He had lots of gas and 2 or 3 non-green lands, but some of his gas included green cards (Thragtusk, I believe). Had he mulliganed, it could have been a completely different outcome. (If game, I know). I feel like Jund needs to be able to count to 3 or 4 lands (either straight land or land -1, +1 Farseek) in the opening hand, including a green source.

Nice comment RC. As a guy who tests as jund a lot and plays against it at every event, I can say that part of playing jund is accepting that your keeping twice as many hands as every other deck because your deck tends to bell you out and because mull is SO bad for you as every card counts. This doesn't mean "don't mull ever" as I think Reid Duke mulled to 5 on the play against Brad Nelson at the MIama GP and won, but what it does mean is that most hands with 2 lands, green source and a removal spell are keepable and most 3 land hands with a playable removal spell are keepable. Note that 2 lands no currently castable removal spell and a green source are almost always keeps, at least in the dark and on the play and are usually keeps on the draw as well.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.
Beatdown is hard, though.

I recently sleeved up Jund and was immediately surprised at how many hands you can keep and the deck just bails you out because you top deck like crazy.
But if you can keep a good number of hands because you top deck well, then you should also be able to say that you'll top deck yourself through a mulligan fairly well.
He thought long and hard about his mulligan decision for game 3 and it ended up biting him in the butt. I have a personal rule that if I catch myself thinking that long about it, then I just have to ball-up and mulligan.

Ok, so I did some digging and here's what someone said the hand was:
Blood Crypt, Dragonskull, Kessig, Slip, Curse of Death's Hold, Farseek, and Huntmaster?
That's really not cut and dry whatsoever. You can easily top-deck through that hand and be in a very good spot. But you can also miss on every card in there other than land and Slip, which is what happened. Having Farseek and Huntmaster both in a 3-land hand is almost always keepable. It really was just missing that green source, in a deck with what, 16 green sources?

No mana to cast the cards? Mulligan. You should not be hoping for a top deck card at the beginning of the game. Go for a safer hand to get through the early turns, especially when the later top deck cards are so much moreOk, so I did some digging and here's what someone said the hand was:

Season 2 is... not the best. Watchable maybe, but it does get a lot better. You made it through season 2 without stabbing yourself? You're a prince among menSpent all day yesterday watching The Walking Dead. I made it past the first season and halfway through the second.
I'm thoroughly addicted.

I'm not through all of it yet - I have 5 episodes to go. But this whole search party / hanging at a farmhouse / 1 or 2 episodes without a walker in it is kinda boring. Still liking it tho.
In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.

I think I may have spoken too soon:So, I read a couple of civilwargoat's posts over on Sally, and I think Kamahl might have some real competition on his hands. If he's not careful, goat's going to usurp his position as a vaulted member of the Fucking Wad Trilogy.
Burning Earth is a card I even considered in our SB. Burning Earth against decks with access to continuous sources of life gain outside of casting something is really not that great. Really do not see what all the fuss about this card against us is.
The "continuous sources of life gain outside of casting something&
quot; is 4 Blood Baron which, while certainly good, has no protection from [mana]R[/mana] - which is the only (or at least main) color any deck running Burning Earth will consist of.
Long live the king.

I've regularly described it as a drama that just happens to take place during a zombie apocalypse.

Did you read his tournament report?
I just can't believe any of it. I just don't. There's no way that deck went undefeated. Seriously, read his boarding plans and how he scooped after turn 3 to some Aristocrats deck.
There is not one ounce of credibility or intelligence in any of his posts. The same goes for cmeks.

Yeah, this is true. I think the drama is what keeps it interesting. I love zombie movies, but the zombie action gets very boring after a while.I've regularly described it as a drama that just happens to take place during a zombie apocalypse.

Just when I thought that Dega thread couldn't get any worse. Burning Earth in a deck with 0-2 basics. Hilarious. It's like he's trying to be stupid.

Kamahl's one of those types who latches on to a christmas-land interaction and then uses every ounce of faulty logic in the book to justify and rationalize its use and extrapolate it to other scenarios. He thrives on circular logic.
However, I think he was talking about playing AGAINST Burning Earth, not WITH. He also doesn't know how to properly construct a sentence.
