I actually am in agreement with the list in its entirety. If I were to make any changes they'd be very subtle.

I never thought I'd see the day where zem posted a mono red list without Ash Zealot though.

Ok. Things I like in about my aggro decks girlfriend:
- really nice curves
- cards legs that are good going long
- mana sink
- lots of synergy :D
First thing that came to mind after seeing Ham's list. ;-)

4 Mutavault.
I used to run SW with 3x Hellion Crucible. It was still ok. I guess I just have an irrational hate for Legion Loyalist. I understand him in your deck.

I like your list minus the Legion Loyalist, [card]Krenko's Command[/card] and Dynacharge.

I'd rather see burn there so you have more options vs decks with problem creatures. Maybe the "just race" plan makes sense though.

[card]Chandra's Phoenix[/card] might have a
place too. It would fit your curve well and has haste / evasion.

I wonder if maybe Ash Zealot deserves a place as well. I feel like BTE loses a lot without Flinthoof Boar.
Phoenix is not a very good card without ways to recur.

Is Pip your lady, zemanjaski? I really like the AIR twist you've introduced to that version of AIR. I ran 4 falters in my 4-color blitz deck this past week (2-2 rounds [6-6 games] then 3-1 round [6-2 games]) and sometimes that even felt underwhelming. I understand you want more
in this deck, but I think you can cut it at 6. From your previous list, I'd -1 Mountain, -2 Goblin Shortcutter, +1 Dynacharge, +2 Ash Zealot. The reason I'd cut the goblins before the humans is because they're useful later in the game (serve as Mugging turns 4-5), whereas we want the Firefist Strikers to battalion up as many times as possible in a game.

My LGS indirectly gives me a late birthday gift. The owner talked about his remaining packs of ROE still selling for MSRP (there's about a box of packs in there). I decided to get a pack since I wasn't active during that period. Owner tells me the best card to hope for is probably Inquisition of Kozilek since a mythic has already been cracked.

Proceeded to crack Emrakul. Even owner was suprised.
birthday luck slipping through box mapping tech?

It is a sad day when Ash Zealot can't be fit into a list. LM is just too good with all the other cards over her.You ideally want to be getting two cards on the field for 2 mana (BTE+ a dude, Krenko's etc.) so she can be slow. There's just no friggin room in this 8set goodstuff deck is there XD

I do think some number of Pyreheart wolves would be good with hellrider.

Shortcutter becomes a bit worse on T2 without more T1 drops, and Krenko's opens up more explosive starts iwth Foundry Street as well? Don't know if there's room ofc, and he can definitely be overwhelming (another dude for the bonfire pyre.)

This is a really tight list though so I won't change anything (except -2lm for 2 wolves due to card availability) and I'll try to put it together for tonight and report back. Finding the mutavaults will be tricky

Yeah, I'm going to try it out. It makes more sense than Weapon Surge in AIR. (Which I thought was a bad card anyway.)

I think that mother fucker just asked me if I even lift:

I would only ask if you have played gideon. if you have then you might change your mind rather than just evaluate the card in a vacuum. reckoner into gideon is pretty strong when opponent has two creatures in play. even two removal spells into gideon leaving them with one creature in play is reasonable depending on the creature. obviously if you do nothing for four turns and then drop a walker vs your agro deck you should just stop playing magic for keeping an awful hand.

cards are played along side or in sequence with other cards. this creates synergies which is what Act II and junk aristocrats get a lot of mileage out of. some decks want to play on a curve as much as possible to maximize there effectiveness. other decks just play the most powerful thing they can at the expense of curve and synergy.

dega
doesn't have access to the most powerful cards in standard an is not highly synergistic like aristocrats. so that leaves playing on a curve. sequencing cards to make the next one better. so playing any planeswalker into a board full of creatures and no way to protect it is a bad play. thanks for pointing that out.
Also, lulz for accusing me of "evaluating in a vacuum" - he's been taking lessons from Kamahl all right.

Argh at these guys.

To improve Dega midrange, take out all the looting, bad planeswalkers, expensive removal and tear up your Purge the Profane. Now, add in some Ash Zealot, Falkenrath Aristocrat and Stromkirk Noble. Sprinkle in some efficient removal and substitute a well thought out mana base. Now you're playing Dos Rakis! Welcome to competitive.

My comment was that Gideon is exactly what Wizards means when they talk about making bad cards appear good to test card evaluation skills. Hopefully he's at least intelligent enough to understand the insult.

I put my two cents in today into that cesspool of ignorance.

I'm totally gonna pound some beers, snort some blow, and do some Mono Red testing tonight. I guarantee I will have more successful results in the ensuing post-blow yank session before bed than that 100 pages of mindless drivel that barely passes for a primer.
