Going to play the vanilla RUG Flash deck this weekend; looks like a lot of fun.

[deck]
4 Huntmaster of the Fells
3 Snapcaster Mage
4 Wolfir Avenger

4 Yeva, Nature's Herald

3 Dissipate
2 Izzet Charm
3 Mizzium Mortars
2 Searing Spear
3 Syncopate
3 Think Twice
3 Turn / Burn

4 Breeding Pool
2 Desolate Lighthouse
4 Hinterland Harbour
4 Rootbound Crag
4 Steam Vents
4 Stomping Ground
4 Sulfur Falls[/deck]

Probably some Curse of Echoes in the board because I'm a psychopath.

'morning, gents.

@photo — Thanks for letting us know about Spectrum! Melissa and I had a lot of fun. I got to geek out over the Magic artists, and she loved sitting through some of the discussions, especially the one about designing for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. I could have listened to Michael Whelan talk all afternoon.

I'm currently sitting in the ER with my daughter this morning. She slammed her thumb in her locker, so we're getting it checked out to see if it's broken. Fun, fun.

I don't know, I'm really not a fan of the deck. Against uprepared decks, it's decent, but against big boys like Jund and Junk you just are on the back foot all game. I really don't like not being able to apply pressure until turn 7 or 8.

I wish i could speak instead of type. I'm a lot better at doing that. Whenever I want to type out my thoughts on a deck, it just comes out stilted and infantile. I feel like I never can get down what I really want to say.

Does anyone else have that problem?

Yes, it's one of the reasons why I don't really write longer texts. I have lots of thoughts and then when I'm starting to write anything I just don't know what to write. Or I realize that it will take too much time and I just ignore the whole thing or just shorten it down to almost nothing. And it still takes a long time because I have to read through everything and edit...and it's just a boring chore...

I'm pretty good at it but I do a lot of technical writing so it comes naturally. The key is being able to organize your thoughts coherently and succinctly.

Nope. I’m eloquent across all known mediums.

Though, in real life you'd also get to see, hear, and smell me (but I'd prefer no tasting and the touching to be kept to a minimum), so that's still better.

All the time. I'm quite serious.

In other news, Ogre, that makes your guys hasty might be good. I just hate the fact that he comes down as a vanilla hill giant. Goblin Pikers I like. Hill Giants...not so much. He does seem really good against control though if you can slow roll threats.

@RUG Master: Deck I played in the finals of the GPT I won a month or so ago. I don't really like the deck, but my opponent beat Prime SPeaker Bant in the quarterfinals for me so the deck has
some merit.

Also, Grixis walkers is an awesome archetype. Won a game with Ral, Liliana, Big Jace, and Nicol Bolas on the field all behind and Olivia.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Ditto.

If it gave itself the ability it'd be amazing, but as-is a 3/3 on turn 4 is... meh.

It + the 2/1 that puts dudes into play whenever you cast an Instant or Sorcery is probably something worth testing, though.

A red deck getting free 1/1s is nice, but our decks have increasingly become creature dense due to combinations of hellrider+BTE. For that reason, I think creature spells like krenko's command may go up in value. That guy is probably a VEERY strong addition to Alex's boros deck actually so long as the space can be found. EOT haunting, get two fliers and a free goblin? That's kind of a big game.

So I don't know if anyone has heard the phrase, "Bad news comes in three's" but it's true. This is how my cycle went:
1. Crashed the truck
2. Got the truck towed
3. Hot water heater took a shit

Now I'm sitting here waiting for the service technician to tell me what I already know. Shit's broke. Fucking home warranty bullshit. That's what happens when you rent. At least I don't have to pay for anything.

Goblin Diplomats is gonna be tons of fun. Sorry, you were planning to do what now?

There are also some fun kitchen table combos

Young Pyromancer + Ogre Battledriver + Molten Birth = 9 hasty damage.
Some men just want to watch the planes burn. . .and most of them are here.

Oh, and I agree with Alex on his thought on core sets. I especially like this one since I just built Krenko EDH, since they've made a few neat new goblins and we'll probably see a few more before release. Ogre Battledriver > In the Web of War, in most cases.

Yeah, I don't think I can take much more of this. I've already had to sell over $1000 worth of cards to help pay for my truck. It's really gonna blow if anything else happens (crosses fingers).

Alright, enough with feeling sorry for myself. I want to give a big thanks to Windstrider for the Dos Rakis primer. I built the deck and it seriously performs. Kudos to you sir, and try not to get hit by any large chunks of hail. ;-)
