As much as I LOVE the flaming, I agree with thirst. I mean, me and 3 people flamed Johnny_Spike to the point of him leaving sally for like a month, then he came back a better player, started posting in the clan thread, and has followed us to the land of milk and honey; or is that just thirst's jizz all over the place?

That and I think we all just started out as a cult based around Z's personality and enthusiasm. He really is our founding father of a sorts as I'm certainly not the purest of red mages, but I was ecstatic to find an actual brilliant poster with whom I could discuss transformational sideboards and hound of griselbrand tech with. Funnily, I didn't find out hound was a rare until last Tuesday when I actually took a keen look at the card.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

That's how I found FoS. By seeing the sig of intelligent contributors. I put myself squarely in the willing to learn category.

Just don't troll the staff so much - it's funny and all, but it doesn't actually accomplish anything besides getting you suspended.

I know you weren't a member when we were on Sally, but we got a ton of new members just by posting quality content and disproving obviously ignorant posts with sound logic, statistics, and evidence - that sort of stuff attracts a certain type and that type is who we want on this site (those who are competent and/or are willing to learn).

Telling someone they're an idiot in the most abrasive way possible is entertaining, but it doesn't further our goal of creating the best possible MtG community.

nBut, that's just my opinion on the matter

I don't care about any of that, I just enjoy seeing how mad Sene gets every time. Dude's a scumbag.

PS: I don't even care about "building a community" because iridium is doing that job for us already. Anybody with common sense will find their way here eventually, with or without my intervention.

So, I was testing Junk Rites versus Bant Aura's since it seems bant got new life breathed into it. Yeah, that deck gets donkey stomped by Acidic slime.

LP, Slime is ridiculous - especially in this meta of 3+ color decks - it just gets overshadowed by tusk.

Indifferent to slivers. The one sliver deck I did like though was a Wild pair combo deck from Time Spiral Block that Wafo made. Long story short, it drew LOTS of cards.

I think I may be done with Kamahl for now, but I left him with a present - the opportunity to do some self-reflection.

What are the odds he doesn't squander the opportunity I've blessed him with?

Trying to prepare a mono-red RTR block list. Suggestions would be appreciated.

[deck]Creatures
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Legion Loyalist
4 Ash Zealot
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Firefist Striker
4 Gore-House Chainwalker
4 Boros Reckoner
4 Rubblebelt Raiders

Spells
4 Mizzium Mortars
2 Weapon Surge

Lands
22 Mountain

Sideboard
3 Annihilating Fire
3 Act of Treason
3 Rakdos Shred-Freak
4 Mugging
2 Frostburn Weird
[/deck]

We have a non-existent metagame with RTR block constructed here so I'm going with the safest option and assuming a lot will choose aggro as well.

EDIT: herpderp Zealous Conscripts the fastest way to DQ land.

Slivers are baller - Wizards even fixed them to specify that they now only work with slivers you control.

Also, I've honestly lost the will to argue with Kamahl any more - it's obvious to me and others in that thread that he's talking out of his ass, but he seems to prefer to remain stubbornly ignorant of that fact. Anyone want to tag in?

Redthirst, you make a point here that is central to problems inherent in the boards, and which will ever be a challenge for evidence-based thinkers like us. Kamahl, LBS, Tuna...all the same issue: Boards are open conversations and regrettably that means that people who thrive on creating dissenting opinions and winning people over with them are a regrettable reality. It's a hard line for mods to walk if the
try to police opinions, because it's too easy to come out on the side of draconian control. Not that it can't be done--the situation with Tuna is a good example (though he technically got kicked for flaming rather than being stupid). But it's difficult to deal with the person who is committed to their own voice and who gets their rocks off by enticing reactions to their garbage, both positive and negative. It's all feedback, and it feeds their need. The only thing that gets rid of these people is if they are ignored completely, and with people who post such drivel to the detriment of others that's hard to do.

If Sally's administration were more focused on content quality, the answer would be to report people's trash posts rather than argue; but given what we know of the culture there, that's not a viable solution. And quite honestly, it would not stop people like LBS anyway; if he got bounced he would be back under a different name before the day was out because he
has a psychological imperative driving him. He's committed to being heard, and his opinion is everything to him. That kind of zealotry is hard to fight, and I have no good answers. At least not any legal ones... :evillol:

Slivers aren't flavorful. Unless you count "unique to Magic" as a flavor. They put Planeswalkers that don't fit into the theme of Expert expansions in core sets all of the time, and Slivers aren't much different.

Dos Rakis for life! Hello again, old friend.

@dpaine- sup, bro. Still playing Mono Red.
Damn, loyal to the death. How has Dos Rakis/RDW treating you guys? Going to any competitive events? or Dragon's Maze Prerelease? (Repping Rakdos of course!!)

I actually got sick of running Dos Rakis and kinda being auto-pilot at FNM so I decided to try out a bunch of new decks as I have been running nearly the same deck since my return to MTG in this past September.

Tried G/R aggro(small) , Jund Aggro(big and small), and a cool White Weenie brew.

There's one thing thats for sure, I just don't
like playing without my Falkenwrath Aristocrat. Found the Cedric Jund aggro list way too straightfoward and boring so I am challenging myself with The Aristocrats now :)

I know its too much to ask ,but guys give me another chance maybe?
