Authorities called off the "shelter in place" order and let people go about their lives.
IMMEDIATELY thereafter they got into a gun fight with what appears to be suspect #2. The person they believe is the 19 year old is currently pinned down in a backyard, so it's only a matter of time.
I believe they gave the "all clear" notice to lure him out of hiding.

Well, didn't participate in FNM, but I did get the final cards to complete my standard Boros list (2x Rhox Faithmender) and my modern Gruul list (2x Arid Mesa). I treated myself with a monster brown ale and an imperial stout.

I nearly got eviscerated by a UB deck running Heartless Summoning, Griselbrand, Clone, and a playset of Crypt Ghast this evening. Two games in a row he resolved Brand and proceeded to Clone my Silverblade Paladin giving it double strike. Motherfucking double striking Griselbrand. I just barely squeezed out the win with no small amount of help from Nevermore post-board. That deck was intense, whatever it was.
3-2 by the end of the night. Lost to Dos Rakis and 5C TurboFog, of all things.

I didn't go to FNM, instead choosing to go see Oblivion. Standard Cruise flick, nothing special.
At least I got some awesomeness to blank out the dumbness from before. Got on Trice to play one last 2/3, and won 2-1 against Naya Blitz in truely enjoyable games of Magic. Guy was pretty cool as well. Nice to know that Cockatrice isn't exclusively populated by dumbasses and cockheads.

Well I haven't seen it so I can't say for sure, but judging from the trailers and similar looking movies, it seems to be a MERICA FUCK YEA type of movie. They tend to go: "America is wounded, who is going to help them?" "Americans are going to help themselves, cause it's America, and America is the best nation ever!"I skipped fnm to catch Olympus has Fallen. I swear if I was American I would be really uncomfortable throughout the show.
I don't have a problem with these types of movies, probably cause I am american myself , and like I said, haven't seen Olympus has Fallen personally, so I could be wrong. But they are ususally pretty
standard media fare: see most of the Call of Duty games and the ilk.

Top 8'd again but lost again in the top 8. This time to esper control. I would ahve been 4-0 but I gave a dude who was paired up to me a win so we would both top 8. The guy I gave the win to made top 4. Oh well. Tired of Jund aggro and now that I got some money burning a hole in my pocket I'm going to build something else. Maybe The Aristocrats.

However, watching those national security members getting slaughtered and your president getting beat up and how easily the white house gets taken would make me uncomfortable if I was American. I've watched a lot of movies where disaster comes to USA, but Olympus has Fallen really shits on the white house like nothing else.

Casually 4-0'd FNM with Junk rites again. Lost only 1 game which was a game 1 against a 4 color non-green reanimator control. You deal with the first griselbraned, they play 2 angel of serenity's. Luckily Acidic slime rapes postboard games against tri-colored decks.
Later, me and the guys had a poker night. 5 dollar buy-in with 6 people somehow turned into multiple people chasing money buying in 3-5 times and I left with a hair under 60 bucks for my initial 5. I love being good at card games. Hopefully this translates into a win at Sunday's GPT which apparently feeds GP Vegas which is Modern Masters sealed. Should be fun. At this store, so far I'm 10-1 in constructed matches and 21-8 in games played.
Tomorrow maybe I'll ask for sideboard advice on a GR agro deck that my sponser's playing. After our game two, he should us how he boarded and we all agreed it was atrocious. His friends told him how he should have
boarded but I don't necessarily agreed. Oh well. Night guys.

Happy birthday, Pyreheart!
We spent the evening playing and plotting Magic with Windstrider...the complexity of the current and upcoming meta makes my head hurt.
Dammit...I've been saying for weeks that black needed a scalable sweeper, and we got one. Well, sort of. I can deal with it being somewhat overcosted after BSZ and not as broadly useful, but why did they feel the need to put GREEN in the cost?!

It was obviously done to control the splashability of the spell and it sucks. Jund can now have a sweeper that is more predictable and less variable than Bonfire (though still costing 5 to clear a field of 2-drops, which makes it actually worse since it's a full board wipe), but black control is stuck splashing a color it doesn't want or need. Pffffft.

Eh, it's an obvious reference to pernicious deed. If it was mono-B, it would only hit creatures. Moreover, mono-B has mutilate for the moment, so I think it's a pretty fair design.Happy birthday, Pyreheart!

True, you make a good point that it will clear other permanents, which is not irrelevant...particularly if we see the artifacts that some of the RTR block cards have hinted at. Thanks for expanding my view, Aesnath.
As for what we want--either an early sweeper (a la Whipflare) or a scalable sweeper to play along with Mutilate in a black-based control build. The issue with Mutlilate is that either you're playing mainly swamps and then kill any board presence of your own by the time you can cast it (this can be dealt with), or if you're splashing into other colors you're killing your swamp count and thus have to worry about undershooting when trying to wipe their early board presence. Mutilate is definitely a great card and will be in the deck, but black control really wants a second sweeper...MBC with Mutilate and BSZ would have been strong in any meta that wasn't so skewed by the Delver of ISD Standard.
The goal is
to have a ground sweeper to deal with the early swarm strategies, preferably before T4, as well as relevant for knocking out a second wave of small dudes without hitting any of the wincons we would want to play. We may have to just settle for Rolling Temblor and go the Br route, though Bw obviously has better overall potential as a control build. The existing W and B/W wrath options are going to come down too late to be relevant, so our hope was for a second black sweep. Ah well...perhaps in M14.

After a little while of him hiding in a pool of his own blood in a winter-wrapped boat in someone's backyard,That is good news, can't wait to hear from you about how they busted his ass.Authorities called off the "shelter in place" order and let people go about their lives.
IMMEDIATELY thereafter they got into a gun fight with what appears to be suspect #2. The person they believe is the 19 year old is currently pinned down in a backyard, so it's only a matter of time.
I believe they gave the "all clear" notice to lure him out of hiding.
they finally got him in custody alive. He's in the hospital right now. So far we don't know whether he surrendered himself or ran out of ammo or if they took him by force, but nobody else was injured.
And then Boston PARTIED. I haven't seen this city party like that since the Sox won the series in 2004. Except we didn't destroy shit this time.

NEW PYREHEART WOLF ON PYREHEARTS BIRTHDAY?Gruul War Chant
2RG
Enchantment [uncommon]
Each attacking creature you control gets +1/+0 and can't be blocked except by 2 or more creatures.
Hey look, it's an upgraded Pyreheart in Gruul colors. Kinda sucks that it's 4cmc though, but I won't be surprised if this see's play.
Must be Fate.
I like this thing. The way I see it, wolf comes down without haste and doesn't swing till t4 anyway most the time. This comes down, bam alpha AND pump? and harder to remove? (well wolf is hard to remove but its still possible and you can stop his trigger by removing him before he attacks)
I like it.

I lol'd.Must be Fate.
So, I stepped into a Starbucks for second time in my life to claim my weekly pound of coffee and other such things. Of course, I got the most expensive blend I could possibly buy, ordered the most expensive drink I could possibly get, and took so much joy in windmill-slamming my Employee card on the table. Best markout that coffee, bitch. Cause I ain't paying for none of this shit.
Other than that, yeah, horrible sales day for a Saturday. I'd be sad if I weren't so wired-up with extra dark roast.
Happy birthday, pyreheart!
