I did some housecleaning of the BBCode tags, now it only displays the main ones although the alternative ones are active.
for example it only displays the [card] tags now although the shortcut is active and the [card=] too. They are listed in the faq.
I've also replaced the [spoilernest] and[spoilernestnest] tags by [spoiler2] and [spoiler3] tags and removed their visibility.

redthirst is redthirst, fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was the leader of the Fires of Salvation, the only clan I'm aware of to get modded off the forums so hard they made their own forums.
Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.

We're already revolting enough as it is.Good point... don't want the peasants revolting.
I'd like to formally request a transfer from the "peasants" group to the "riff-raff" though.
Also, more on topic, has any thought been given to making MTG discussion more front and center? I'm not criticizing, but I'd personally think moving the chunk of Magic specific forums higher on the forum list might make it slightly more accessible. Sometimes people are too lazy to scroll. And yes...I'm being 100% serious. This is something we used to talk about a lot when we were working on our website at my old job. Metrics suggested that a fairly large number of people left our site without ever scrolling down, so we had to make
sure there were "hooks" visible from the start.
Edit: After looking at the forum again...I have no clue how the FUCK you could lay it out better. I'll leave the suggestions on site design to people who know what they're doing.
I'm just amazed by how dumb you can consistently pretend to be.

I haven't read the other posts, but something I've always wanted was a private area. Say you have a test group that is very competitive. Most people use Facebook or something similar to organize, but that can be clunky and doesn't link card texts. Would you ever consider adding private sections for teams? With team leader given local mod access or something?

we've been adding private areas for people who ask them, and we have quite some few already. All there is required is to have a critical mass of members, because there's no point in doing a private area for one to three users. So yeah, totally feasible as long as you bring enough people to the table.

i haven't tinkered with permissions, but it may be a reasonable idea to make testing areas public-private, so that they are visible and people can ask for permission to join them (or make it so the group creator can request one mode or the other for their group... like, make membership open or closed basically). i am pretty sure this is already something we can do, but currently i haven't tried to make any new subsections and couldn't tell you.

well that's what we did in clans in which we made hidden and visible/read-only sections. The trick software-wise is to make a new group and then give read/post permissions to this group. Its easy to do with this software.i haven't tinkered with permissions, but it may be a reasonable idea to make testing areas public-private, so that they are visible and people can ask for permission to join them (or make it so the group creator can request one mode or the other for their group... like, make membership open or closed basically). i am pretty sure this is already something we can do, but currently i haven't tried to make any new subsections and couldn't tell you.

Mod Positions
this mod talk got me thinking. Maybe you should consider only hiring mods if they have unanimous support from other staff. You might pass up a good mod here and there, but you would pass up Onar type mods a lot more.

I know my opinion is worth naught but I agree with Dane. You REALLY want to blow his mind? Mod me.
(Don't do it. I'd be a terror to make Teia pale in comparison.)
and Manders and Tom Servo he is definitely not anything like my type. I failed, while he has yet to show his ablities.

Az is a mod here, so what are you saying?I think we're good mod-wise for now, though.
If I had to choose between Az, GR, Scumbag and Thrillio or roughly 3 quarter of the mods on that other place to run a site. I would choose the former every bloody time.
I believe this is already on the itinerary, but I'll check. Also, stating the obvious here but maybe create sub-forums for the likes of Modern and Vintage forums like you have done with the
Standard forum.
Edit: Ok, there was no mention of it, so I put it out there for you.

Lick my sweaty balls. This is all fine but I want to clarify I was joking about the infractions and all that, just that giving people the ability to move posts around the subforum and delete spambots would be okay in my book. Scumbag has a lot on his plate right now and so does everyone else I'm sure.
You SURE you don't want to infract me for that?
I'm just amazed by how dumb you can consistently pretend to be.

It's actually not. There are a few sites that operate that way and it seems to work wonders. One is a Sallly sized (actually, bigger) conspiracy site that is never short on drama if you're looking for it, but it's never something about mods. Every once in awhile they get accused of being cointelpro, but hey, it's a conspiracy site.Unanimous is a bit much, but discussion does go into the decisions when the discussion does come up.
It will save more headaches than it causes, I can guarantee that. But it's just a suggestion.

For what its worth I have made a list of established modern decks here for if/when you get round to it.Also, stating the obvious here but maybe create sub-forums for the likes of Modern and Vintage forums like you have done with the Standard forum.

I have updated the FAQ with a much needed tutorial on how to use the card tags (at least while we don't improve them).
