I can answer that (since I was staff once upon a time too).

We used to share funny PM's from people raging over some infractions and (mostly) warnings, but it was just over the top stuff.

As for making fun of specific people, I can attest this did not occur at that time at all (like one year ago), even more "special" people like LogicX weren't made fun of at all.

my guess is that all this culture of making fun of users in hidden threads is something that is posterior to my resignation, and a byproduct of this "its not that we suck at managing the site, its that we are being constantly hounded and harassed by the evil userbase" mentality that took grip on the staff.

Probably more reigned in if anything since the senior staff have reprimanded a few mods for taking the venting too far. I'm sure users have been flamed before... but usually the reprimands (or gentle steering of the conversation) have happened before it gets to that point. It's really pretty tame.
