Tbh I've considered going drinking alone for the same reasons, all my friends are sad people who just live for their families, I considered going out alone to have a drink, I mean what's the big deal? you sit at the balcon, ask for some drink, you may eventually chat with some other loner or the bartender, if not you can just enjoy your drink alone and casually watch people go by at the bar, I envision it like a possibility for a relaxed evening.

So long as you're not getting shit-faced and making an ass of yourself, heading to a bar for a drink or more is fine whether you're alone or not. In fact, you may find a bar you really enjoy, making it your regular spot, and make new friends...as you set out to do.
