I'm sure there will be a home for the card with all the "counters matter" cards. It looks to be a theme in the new set as well with the new green mythic.

You never go full foil pauper.

This is my favorite scg article.
Well, second favorite. The other Jim Davis article about women in the mtg community was genius.
why is this guy still employed?

he's a bad writer who hates women, and even his own girlfriend it seems, fairly typical for an mtg semi pro

It's an easier to cast Sowing Salt, which is nice. I wonder what the point of Devoid is. Lands with protection? Some optional "reveal a colorless card" casting cost elsewhere?

If I were splashing black, it wouldn't be for Foul-Tongue Shriek. Crackling Doom seems like a much better option.
Edit: brain fart, but Shriek is still a bad card. I'd only play black for good sideboard cards like Self-inflicted Wound.

Devoid is just a mechanism for R&D to link to the Eldrazi. Being colorless is easy to recognize but they couldn't put a colorless mana cost to 1/3 of an edition without creating something broken or awful. So it's colorless in the flavor but not in the mana cost.

I use metadeck.me and just know what the cards do.Does anyone know what tool/website the SCG team uses to make proxies that look like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=103&v=Gd0fa2C5nY0
I want to save some ink so I don't want to just print entire cards, but something more than plain text would be nice.
I have two 75 card decks sleeved, they each contain 12 diff archetypes
http://i.imgur.com/ejJI6yp.jpg
Scg just writes real nicely in pieces on paper with sharpies

Just saw the ones you are referring to. As a designer, this is my best guess to what they do.
They take the card images into photoshop (you can use a free program called GiMP, liteally the freeware photoshop), and then they use the rectangle tool to draw a white box on top of the art... They do this because in theory they do not have the right to broadcast unreleased art (it's essentially free promotion for scg to hype cards), and then they write the name of the card bigger in sharpie On the white box so you can see it via camera.
Then obviously they just cut them out and slip the paper in a sleeve with a shitty bulk card or basicland

I've been experimenting taking out a Stoke and a Strike for another land and a Regent, but I think the deck can still stand as is.
Without taking too much time to write out a SB guide, I'll copy/paste some excerpts from a FB conversation I was having with ham tonight about the deck.
Ham:
I went 3-2 in the league so I broke even, losing the last match to bad top decks (lots of outs, didn't draw them for multiple turns)
I'm tweaking the list a bit, too, I think fliers are better than Goblin tokens
I bumped up to 4 Regents and swapped the Outburst and Rabble with Phoenixes, went to 22 land. I'm trying out Frenzied Goblin over Heelcutter
Me:
I actually trimmed a Stoke and a Strike for a land and a Regent. I think you need the Outburst since it lets you achieve maximum spell velocity by casting Stoke for free and letting you win the race by attacking in the air.
Heelcutter needs to stay. It is SO much better than Frenzied.
Ham:
Ok, I'm only trying Frenzied Goblin in the practice room to avoid dumb choices. Heelcutter is really that good?
I cut the Titan's Strength too, have I shamed you?
Me:
Typical boarding is just removing the Outbursts and Rabbles and some Slashes (depending)or Eidolons against Abzan and big Green for birds, roast, harnesses, and Firecrafts.
Titan's Strength is huge. It lets you dig for land, activate ferocious, attack into caryatids and coursers, and even does weird things like make a bird big when you have to suicide attack an Ojutai or something
Heelcutter helped me make it to the finals. Against Abzan, it's just a beating/
Ham:
OK, I'll trust your judgment on the Outbursts and play more with the deck. I found myself in ground stall a lot and wishing I had more fliers at 3
Me:
Now I have REALLY been considering playing Chandra over the Rabbles.
And T-Strength is huge with her
You want to have a good goldfish and Rabbles + Outburst give you that.
Ham:
I think the card I'm pretty impressed with is Searing Blood
Least impressed, sorry
Terrible autocorrect!
Me:
But Rabbles and Heelcutters are bad vs Aggro decks, so they come out for more removal.
And sometimes Outburst is bad (but not Rabble), so you replace them with Birds.
The deck is very malleable postboard but you need to have that strong aggro game for G1 with the ability to shift gears if need be.
Searing Blood is either the nuts or terrible. That's why I only went down to 2 when everyone else was running 4.
Ham:
OK, I was running into situations where Rabble and Outburst were both really bad. I assumed the cards did much the same thing
Me:
It's usually a swap for Firecraft in the right matchup
Ham:
I'd feel much better with Searing Blood in the board
I brought in Firecraft a lot when I took out Blood
Roast is really good
Me:
Rabble is for the quick clock. Outburst is mainly there for free stokes and a blocking force. But there is a natural synergy there.
By all means, customize as you see fit. The meta has shifted a bit since I designed this monster weeks ago lol But every piece in the deck and the numbers were very well thought out. grin emoticon
Ham:
Heh, I haven't strayed far. I had a blast playing it
Me:
It's very much like Dos Rakis back in the day. Just with no color screw lol
Ham:
Breaking even in an established format on my first try was a good feeling
Me:
LOL Yeah!
I felt like that when I chewed through the 5k
Ham:
I credit you, the Mountains practically tapped themselves for me
Lightning Berserker is great too, so many feels from Stonewright
Me:
He's great. But I do board him out a lot since most x/1's are bad vs aggro unless you're blocking (see Outburst)
But yeah, he brought back all the feels when he was my T1 drop and my opponent played 2 or more temples in a row while I just dropped lands and attacked for more and more each turn while my hand kept getting bigger lol
Ham:
Haha, yeah! I destroyed some Abzan tapland guy with T1 berserker and just kept pumping
Dude didn't kill it until T4
Thanks for the 5 damage brah
Me:
One of the most powerful things you can do is lead with a Zurgo, then drop a Swifty with a Slash either to the dome or deal with a blocker. It's a huge play.
Take 6 on turn 2 lol
that's when it feels like a burn deck
Ham:
Zurgo is pretty nice, I like him more than I thought I would
Me:
yeah me too. He even blocks tokens. I've made an attack only to play another just to have him untapped to block tokens
