to the inclusion of Relic.
I've been playing Grim Lavamancer over Forked Bolt lately, and liking it.

I think a split of Forked Bolt and Lavaman is reasonable. I still like having 6 answers to turn one dorks on the draw.

I'm thinking that Abbot of Keral Keep is a pretty nice source of CA for us. I don't own any yet, but looking forward to testing it out.

Seems okay in the more aggressive deck you were playing with. FWIW Reid Duke posted a Red Devotion deck with Avaricious Dragon. I commented on his article noting that I liked his deck but didn't like how the Dragon made the Twin matchup a lot worse, and liked his suggestion of maindeck Spellskite to hedge.

I was thinking about this today. Thalia spam might be the only good answer to "why not just play UR Twin?"

I like the all-creature approach generally, but I think it needs Eidolon of the Great Revel to protect against combo elves and other silliness.

I like Abolisher because it prevents Twin from going off on my turn, and it stops counter spells. It's very nice getting to do Defector / Wisp tricks without fear of removal.

Thalia, Abolisher or something else, there's not a big difference in how the games play out. Most of the action is in the 3-4 spots

I've been kicking around a build of Baby Boros with newly released card Swift Reckoning, which I find as good as Path to Exile in a deck that wants to play Blood Moon MD.

I've been playing around with the deck a lot today (mostly vs bloom and jeskai control) but I've found that:
A) Grand Abolisher is not very good
B) Thalia spam seems slightly better but still unexciting
C) I don't like the sideboard
D) Tunnel Ignus is very good vs Bloom. I expect he's very good against scapeshift too. Is four slots too many to dedicate to those match ups?
E) I like 1 of Akroma as "answer or lose". Our control match up is terrible and it's won me games I had no business winning.
F) We are pretty weak to planeswalkers
G) Lavaman seems worse than forked bolt.

Tunnel Ignus is the only way I could ever beat Bloom Titan. keep or drop him depending on your meta.
Which PWs are you having trouble with?
Nobody plays Torpor Orb, and I don't care too much if they do. The creatures are generally good enough on their own to be competent on the battlefield (Wall of Omens excepted).H) Not a fan of Main Deck relic

You're losing to Bloom Titan? How? Am I just insanely lucky against them? I have yet to lose a match.Cool, the 2 spot is mostly preference.I've been playing around with the deck a lot today (mostly vs bloom and jeskai control) but I've found that:

I've been playing with Abbot of Keral Keep today and I like him quite a bit. There's always been a strange tension in the deck where I want to maximize the number of creatures to synergize with Kiki, Flickerwisp and Restoration Angel, and resist playing otherwise good non-creature spells. There's just a lot of crap at the 1/2 drop spot, which makes filling the curve up with relevant creatures quite difficult. Removal is important in Modern
Abbot helps me relieve that pressure by providing a body that synergizes well with the flicker theme, while letting me dig through my deck if I'm trying to find instant speed removal or hit a land drop.
Abbot is kind of lame on T2, but I'm OK running him out and throwing away the top card of my library if I can block with him or otherwise get value from him later.

I mulligan aggressively until I find Thalia or Flickerwisp. If they kill me on turn two, whatever, but it doesn't happen often.Maybe I was approaching the matchup wrong, but every time I dealt with the Titan, I got Hive Minded out.

Abbot seems okay in a non combo build. I'm not sure I like him more than Wall of Omens with Resto in the deck though. I think it's better to have cards like Finks instead.I've been playing with Abbot of Keral Keep today and I like him quite a bit. Could be better than Defector in the long run with a different build. Abbot pushes you toward a more spell heavy deck though.

I'm not sure where the Abbot break-even point is, but having him in the deck makes me more confident to include noncreature spells that help me interact with the larger degeneracy I see in dailies.

Flickerwisp fucks bloom so hard. Basically any time they pact lol.
Vs control, Ajani V and Jace were giving me headaches.
Control boarded in Topor Orb and it made me very sad.

Maybe I've just been unlucky against Bloom. They seem to beat me by T2 Summer Bloom into Titan, or a Hive Mind pact kill. I've occasionally hosed them with a timely Flickerwisp, but I find myself on the sharp end of nut draws too often.

I was browsing mtgtop8 and seeing a lot of Affinity, Burn and Twin decks. Baby Boros has a pretty good time against those decks, so I jammed it
I included Exquisite Firecraft, which was excellent, and Stoke the Flames which was bad (thankfully I never drew them, or the mana to cast them)
