I've been playing the Bell-Ringer version of BBBSG all morning and I must concede to Val that it's the most obnoxious version ever constructed. The card advantage is out of control.

Mangara is surprisingly good; I had overlooked him because he's legendary but Flickerwisp/Bell-Ringer play so well with him.

The only issue is the relatively poor quality of the creatures on their own. Village Bell-Ringer, Wall of Omens and Mangara in particular are all really lame unless I have something to combo them with.

Something like Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit would help, but then I run into the legendary rule again.

I was posting my Humble Defector version from memory, so naturally I forgot the super secret tech, Dead // Gone. The first half lets me deal with mana dorks cheaply, and the second half can reset a Defector or bounce a troublesome blocker as a tempo play.

How was it not playing with a one drop? How has Stoke been? I think Stoke is pretty cool with Bell-ringer but I wonder if we should be playing some number of Forked Bolt in the maindeck for more early interaction.

I haven't missed the 1 drop at all. Stoke and Bell-Ringer are great together, but as soon as I drop one the other becomes awful. I ran the test with Finks in place of Bell-Ringer, and swapping the Stokes for Forked Bolt seems like a great trade.

We seem to be on a similar philosophy. My only beef is Anafenza because she doesn't play well with Defector and Flickerwisp. 4 Mindcensor may be over the top. I'd try 2 first. Also, I think you want at least six copies between Wall of Omens and Defector to make t3 Flickerwisp effective.

Not really. The philosophy for this most recent idea is to bury opponents in value and win the long game. This deck generates much more raw card advantage than Twin does while being able to integrate proactive hate elements into the game plan.

I'd also like to make note of the green splash for Wolf Run and sideboard tech. I felt like the deck wanted more reach late in the game. Township is a bit slow.

I brewed Baby Boros when Delver / Burn took over the meta last season. I had been playing BBBSG for a long time, but swapped plans to attack that meta.
