step 1: play in a format where gnarled mass or functionally analogous creatures are printed
step 2: when you open a gnarled mass or its analog, pick it instead of other cards in the pack
step 3: if cards in your draft format allow you to give your gnarled mass or its functional equivalent deathtouch, draft that as well

congratulations you have skillfully drafted 4/5 of the cases where deathmist raptor is a card in your deck. your parents are very proud.

my deck's game plan was play 4-power creatures and attack my opponent to death with them, so deathmist raptor was possibly one of the worse cards in my deck.
