I'd assume it's either monstore or pack warz?
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Seems like something you would write.

I agree with some points, but think a large part of it is whiny.

A store called Gameology. It's the one I talked about few weeks back about fixing the winner for Game Day. No one goes there without a bad experience.

Today they had a PPTQ and my Facebook feed is flooded with people that went and talking about all the shit that went down. Stuff like massive amounts of game losses and questionable DQs for nothing, judges telling players to figure stuff out themselves, officials and store owners cussing out customers, and what was just put to light: entering people into the event that had not only never played the game, they had no intention of playing just so the store can get to the 50 players for support from Wizards. One friend found out his first round opponent doesn't know how to play and his decklist was listed as 60 Forests.

About a year or so ago, I heard about a bunch of sketchy stuff involving OC and the judges up there. Not surprised at all.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao was more boring to watch than a GW Manifest mirror.

The fight was good the first 4/5 rounds. After round 5 mayweather was able to distance himself nicely. While I would have loved to see Manny win, the only way he could win was with a KO. If it goes to a decision, that means Mayweather was able to play his game, and he deserved to win.

What did and didn't you like about the deck?
Ojutai was a waste of space all day. I know it's a great card but it never did anything for me. This could just be due to how my matches played out (my matchups in order were GW Manifest, Mono Green Beatdown, GR aggro, Esper control, Bant heroic, Abzan aggro, and Abzan control). I would rather this have been a second Elspeth and some other spell.

Soulfire Grand Master was insane. Got to buyback my spells all day, and it was most handy in my top 8 match against Abzan aggro where I was able to continually buyback my Lightning Strikes to kill his Vampire token threatening to kill my Elspeth, a Fleecemane Lion, and a Warden before finally stabilizing and winning off an Elspeth ultimate.

Elspeth was Elspeth. It was my first time playing with it and the way it just wins games if not answered immediately is like control's version of Goblin Rabblemaster.

Mantis Rider is very well positioned right now. It allowed me to outrace heroic and mono green.

Brimaz was very good too. I liked playing two. He was pivotal to a few of my victories, and his synergy with Stoke was very relevant.

My sideboard was probably off by one or two cards. I think my counter suite was correct but Surge of Righteousness was a little awkward if my opponent only had Warden or Fleecemane out. This would probably have been better as Roast.

Basically this deck is one of those 50% decks with no really bad matchups. Only GW Manifest felt truly terrible but that was exacerbated by being on the draw for two games. There were a lot of comments from the peanut gallery on my deck and the Esper control player in particular was pretty salty about losing to "Jeskai cards-I-own." :D

I never found GW that bad. Anger just crushes them if you drop it early. I am very surprised that you didn't like Ojutai. Did it die when you attacked every time or something? It should have been a real player against GW, Mono Green, Bant, and Abzan at least. Would it have been better as Stormbreath?

Ojutai has the very real issue of dying in decks without counterspells.

Fair enough. I run extra Stances as well as Regents to get extra value out of a lone Ojutai.

I never drew my Angers postboard against GW unfortunately. With Ojutai I was almost always behind when I played him and he had to trade with fatties or he would die when attacking.

I actually am beginning to think it would have been better as Ashcloud Phoenix.

that anti-PT article was horrible

was it supposed to be a bad beats whine blog or a legit criticism of the PT? you can't have both. especially when you end it with "i'm looking forward to the standard open I'm preparing for"

i agree with some of what he said more than he does. i actually don't play magic because of all the shit attached, he's just another nerd sucking the wotc d

Did these people play / can we verify this stuff happened? That store is 100% getting it's sanctioned pulled and a TO getting banned if the DCI fraud part is legit.

*Also so I can make sure this store gets it's sanctioning pulled.

Yeah everyone that was there have gotten together to report the news to everyone they can. There's a campaign to get the place shut down by everyone finally tired of their shit. The history goes back years with their shady practices and it's finally getting some attention.

Hilariously enough the one that got cussed out was a L2 judge and the one with the 60 Forest opponent is a L1. They dun goofed.
