What do we think about this for an expected meta of Esper and Abzan?
4 seeker of the way
4 soulfire grand master
4 goblin rabblemaster
4 mantis rider
3 wild slash
4 lightning strike
2 valorous stance
4 jeskai charm
4 stoke the flames
3 dig through time
24 lands
Envision the sideboard as having Surge of Righteousness, Negate, Disdainful Stroke, Anger, and some other role players.

Elspeth is definitely juicy.
Do we think Ojutai is acceptable here with only Valorous Stance to protect it?

It has always served me well. You will also have Negate post board. You can bluff protection pretty well. At worst it is a 5/4 hexproof flying blocker. If you don't like that, just take SBDs or Sarkhans. Then again I am also a sucker for Thunderbreaks but I am not warm on Seeker right now so the exchange is easy.

I think 50% is ambitious if MM2015 is similarly limited as MM1 (and still suspect even with a less limited release). It would mark the cards third printing, so I definitely think it's safe to wait and see.How much do you guys think the reprinting of goblin guide will affect its price? I want to buy them but not sure if it worth waiting to see if they will drop 40-50%

They already said they are printing a lot more than they did of MM1

Yes but we're talking by half of a multi format staple card in a set that still has a limited release compared with other sets, and a set selling at $10 per pack MSRP.They already said they are printing a lot more than they did of MM1
That said there's going to be a lot more floating around and it's fairly safe to assume it will deflate the current crazy cost.

Seems dec, you're natuarally favored vs. abzan agro, so that's a good thing. I'd probably cut dig and a wild slash or lightning strike for single Ojutai and land. If you play jeskai, you need to make sure you have a plan for RG dragons. I've found that aside from counterspells, Elspeth is one of the best cards against there deck. What do we think about this for an expected meta of Esper and Abzan?

Lastly, with so many jeskai charms, playing some number of token makers goes up in value, so brimaz should almost certainly be in the board, and outburst/fodder are cards i'd consider playing a couple copies of.

Thanks for the advice, LP and Purp.
Do you think it would be acceptable to run 24 land with two Ojutai and a 25th land in the board to play control in postboard games? I do plan on running a couple of Elspeth in the board and 1-2 Brimaz. I fear flooding on 25 land but I guess running the full set of Soulfire Grand Master makes that less scary.

hay, look, they didn't reprint birds of paradise. nothing i can do.lolHow else are you going to profitably block literally nothing in Standard?
to give you some idea, I have an allocation event-wise to run drafts for nearly 600 people + MM prizes (MM1 we ran a 200 player draft w/ no MM prizes). this is not counting at all how much CFB is selling pre-Vegas. Other stores that ran 50-100 man draft events before running out are now advertising caps of 300-400 players. There's a whole lot more floating around ATM even without exact allocations being known.I think 50% is ambitious if MM2015 is similarly limited as MM1 (and still suspect even with a less limited release). If we go up to 25 land, what do we think about Stormbreath Dragon vs an Elspeth or Sarkhan in the main?

That was my line of thinking as well. At least Elspeth gets some value before eating a Downfall.

Clever Impersonator is fun. Opponent plays Garruk, I copy Garruk, I kill his Garruk. He cries.

I am not so sure. So far I have copied the Garruk, two Atarkas, an Ugin, and three Drifting Deaths. I think I am going to keep it as a one-of in my board.

I would have cut a Triumph for it to give you 17/16/16 but if you are fine with it, I won't argue. The difference is likely miniscule.

After losing round one to GW Devotion, I rattled off four straight, extremely hard-fought wins to draw round 6 into the top 8 of this PPTQ. Have yet to win a die roll and will likely be on the draw in every top 8 match. Hilarious happenings include losing a die roll when my opponent first rolled a 3.
Wish me luck!
