Deflecting Palm is for Show and Tell, Belcher, Reanimator, mirror, and maybe True-Name decks depending on their postboard strategy.

Vald: You forgot Infect on that list. However, do you really think it is worth it to play the one Plateau for that? I suppose the risk is minor since few decks that you would bring it in against play Wasteland.
Khaos: I agree with MDU on the 4x Fireblast. The card is just too valuable as a finisher. Unless you think Storm is going to be a real force in the side events, I think you can shave Mindbreak traps for things like more Rifts, Smashes, or Bridges.

Yep, forgot Infect.
None of the decks on that list play Wasteland (except maybe some True-Name decks but it's not a given that we'd want Deflecting Palm there anyway) so the only risk is drawing the one Plateau against the decks that do have it.

I suppose it is at least worth testing. We need to find something to give us an edge against our bad matchups.

The problem with burn is that it just auto loses to unfair decks like Sneak and Show. People have previously boarded in Ashen Rider just to have a chance. Deflecting Palm is much more flexible since you can bring it in for many more matchups and it makes those matchups more favorable too. It helps that Sneak and Show tends to board out their counters against burn, making the chance of resolving Deflecting Palm much better.
Plus I just want to Deflecting Palm an Emrakul.

Bitchslapping Emrakul is indeed a joy. As I said, it is worth testing. For now I will stick with my Bridges until otherwise convinced.

It has some minor uses against OmniTell and, if you want to go REALLY deep, Elves. Primarily Storm, though.

I'd rather just play a couple of Pyrostatic Pillar in the board. They're a lot more flexible.

I'd just chalk it up to bad luck and move on. You're going to lose a lot of games to Storm. You have to accept that if you're going to play Burn. If you're not comfortable with that, play a blue deck.

Yep, I agree sometimes you just lose.
Ok well my first DE didn't go very well my results were 1-2 drop, I entered in with the list I posted one page before running a "slower burn" deck I lost against 2 combo decks and I beat one weird welder deck (well its more like he beat himself).
For the next DE which I'll try tomorrow I'll enter in with a more all-or-nothing type list (running Flame Rift and its ilk).
[deck=MDU's Burn]Lands 19
11 Mountain
4 Arid Mesa
4 Scalding Tarn
Creatures 8
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
4 Goblin Guide
Enchantments 02
2 Sulfuric Vortex
Spells 31
4 Chain Lightning
4 Lava Spike
4 Rift Bolt
4 Fireblast
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Price of Progress
4 Searing Blaze
4 Flame Rift
Sideboard 15
2 Faerie Macabre
2 Pyrostatic Pillar
2 Searing Blood
3 Ashen Rider
3 Mindbreak Trap
3 Smash to Smithereens[/deck]
EDIT
Hmmmmm... looking at MTGOGOLDFISH it seems like running so many flame rifts will won't be such a good idea - I'll rework the list for tomorrow.

I played the Legacy DE (8068403) today and went 3-1, wanna guess what I lost against?
The list was:
[deck=MDU's Burn]Lands 20
12 Mountain
4 Arid Mesa
4 Scalding Tarn
Creatures 10
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
4 Goblin Guide
2 Grim Lavamancer
Enchantments 02
2 Sulfuric Vortex
Spells 28
4 Chain Lightning
4 Lava Spike
4 Rift Bolt
4 Fireblast
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Price of Progress
4 Searing Blaze
Sideboard 15
2 Smash to Smithereens
2 Pyrostatic Pillar
2 Searing Blood
3 Ashen Rider
3 Faerie Macabre
3 Dragon's Claw[/deck]
I think I'll just bite the bullet and run some mindbreak traps, on that note does anyone own any MBT online that they're not using atm?

In Legacy isn't Searing Blood better then Searing Blaze (I kinda want to cut the fetch lands from my list)?

Generally searing blood is never better than searing blaze because it actually requires the targeted creature to die to deal 3 damages , meaning it can be blanked by a lot of things such as opponent removing his own creature in response with bolt/plow. searing blaze just requires landfall and a creature on the battlefield and it will always deal 3 damages no matter what it happens.
So, despite most legacy creatures being x/2's and x/1's searing blaze is overall a better card than searing blood in my opinion.

I am currently building the deck for upcoming Legacy GP in my hometown (Lille) in July. I have everything apart from Chain Lightning and Price of Progress and SB cards.
I've never played in Legacy but played a lot Burn in Modern. Can you give some tips and tricks or some sideboarding guides ?

That list is very good right now because when two of the top tier decks are omnitell and miracles you really don't want to have searing blazes or grim lavamancers maindeck.
The only thing i disagree with a bit is 21 lands .... it feels just too safe.

21 seems acceptable for wanting to cast Vortex on curve and also in aiding the Blaze/Lavamancer package postboard.

Yes, yes, i know 21 lands is technically the correct number. He has 3 vortexes, 4 fireblasts, lavamancers and blazes postboard, and in legacy playing around daze and pierce is very important.
it is just my gut feeling that would make me play 20 .... i would have an irrational fear of flooding too much with 21

[deck]Eternal Weekend[/deck]
Seems like everyone is playing Swiftspear instead of Flame Rift now. I liked that card, but the Swifty seems better.
Sideboard is a mess, mostly due to card availability. I'd like to have no Dragon's Claws and 2 Vexing Shushers because that card is great against Miracles. Ashen Rider is also probably better than Ensnaring Bridge. I'd play 4 Pyrostatic Pillars if I had them, probably in place of some Pyroblasts or Smash to Smithereens.
I'd like to run fetches like everyone else (makes flooding a bit less common on 21 lands), but I only own 5 red fetches and I figure that it's better to be Stifle-proof than to half-ass it with buffing Lavamancer and Searing Blaze.
Oh. Searing Blaze should be Searing Blood, I think, but I don't have any of those either.
And I don't know the meta at all, since, you know, I don't really play Magic.
Oh well. I wasn't looking to win. I almost entered the Vintage event for Sunday instead for the cool Tolarian Academy playmat, but family stuff is happening Sunday.
Should be a fun time.

I would toss in the 4th Chain Lightning over the 21st land, most of your spells are 1cc - I wish you the best of luck.
