Alright then. I get how the deck can work and deal with all the decks in the meta, I just don't know how it can deal with G/X decks if they find that window of opening and get out of hand.

played mardu tokens on my gameday, and finished the swiss as first with 4:0 and lost in the finals for the playmat 1:2 to the same jeskai deck i beat in the swiss.. by 1 life :D. he topdecked the card he needed to do exactly lethal before i would have killed him next turn. but anyway, was lots of fun.

i feel like my deck can win vs anything, and lose to anything in the meta. there is no matchup i just always get stomped, and there is no matchup i just win all the time.

feels like a fun deck. i played this list:

[deck]
4 Seeker of the Way
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
4 Butcher of the Horde
1 Stormbreath Dragon

1 Spear of Heliod
1 Dictate of Heliod

4 Crackling Doom
2 Lightning Strike
4 Mardu Charm
4 Raise the Alarm
2 Stoke the Flames

1 Hordeling Outburst

1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
2 Sorin, Solemn Visitor

3 Battlefield Forge
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Caves of Koilos
2 Mountain
2 Nomad Outpost
2 Swamp
3 Temple of Silence
4 Temple of Triumph
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth

Sideboard:
3 Hushwing Gryff
1 Stormbreath Dragon
2 Erase
3 Magma Spray
2 Chandra, Pyromaster
2 Glare of Heresy
2 Harness by Force
[/deck]

basicly its like a list someone posted on the mardu midrange threat or something. was it LP? dont remember anymore :D thanks for the inspiration, the deck is a lot of fun.

allstars:
crackling doom: this card is just nuts. in my oppinion the best removal in the format, the 2 extra damage is just nuts and you just always get the target you want to hit in my oppinion. it was sooo good yesterday and it also was in online testing.

sorin: he is just nuts, i loved how i beat the one guy with 2 raise the alarm end of turn, followed by sorin with +1 in my turn.

butcher: he is just as good as he seems to be, not much to say about him

seeker: he was the best card in the deck. he won me nearly every game where he could stick for more than 1 turn, and i didnt count but i would say seekers got me over 100 life yesterday.

nothing was really underwhelming. i currently dont want to change anything, at least in the maindeck. mb change some numbers around.

sideboard:
hushwing gryff is just so damn good vs rhinos. because abzan really depends on their lifegain and lifedrain, and they dont like it if you respond with a flashed gryff when they play rhino on turn 4.

chandra was there for tokens and controlmatchup, but i had non, so i never used her.

magma spray was pretty good vs jeskai non-combo.

harness won me the swiss tournament, with taking a winmate roc and a rhino, while my opponent feeled save behind them :D.

matchups were:
g/u devotion 2:1 (lost 1 match, while i kept a 1-lander after muligan to 6, and never saw a second land)
jeskai wins 2:0
jeskai wins 2:1
and final vs my wifes brother (sorry dont know the english word for it currently xD), we drawed, but played it to drop some time, where i won 2:0 again vs jeskai wins

then in the top 4 i first played abzan midrange which i won 2:0, especialy the game where i countered his turn 4 rhino with my gryff was won pretyt easy.

the final was vs the same jeskai win guy i played in round 3. all 3 games were very very close, and i lost the close third game ended up second overall.

but since the booster prices were given away after the swiss rounds, and i was first there, i was pretty happy.
just didnt win the playmat :(

The problem I've faced with UB (I don't know if it's the same James had) is that the only wrath effects at your disposal are the very costly Perilous Vault - that either needs 9 mana or asks you to tap out for two consecutive turns... - and Aetherspouts that's only really reliable when opponents forget it exists, but becomes pretty much a dead card if your enemy know you're running it.

Yeah they're both bad. I've been fine without a wrath; the deck doesn't have the crutch cards control has had the last few seasons, but it's very fine I think.

I won my GD playing Temur Monsters. Deck seems legit, Stubborn Denial and Temur Charm are very good.

Scrubbed out of GP. After my two byes, I misplayed against a good abzan player and lost in two. Bad start.

Rip of 4 wins to 6-1 needing to win one of the next two.

Play against boss sligh for the SECOND time(worst possible matchup) and this player is much better then the first and I get crushed.

Last round, paired against my best friend on UB+resolute archangel control. Win game 1, loss game 2, flood out game 3.

Kill me.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Congratulations Lightning_Dolt!

I scrubbed out of Game Day because some of my other team needed the better cards (we are having problems with the pool and card availability). I got reminded again why you shouldn't play Jeskai Ascendancy combo when there's a lot of aggro in the meta.

On the plus side, one of the players from the LGS is in top 8.

Carlo Falci.

He's not the best player, but it's still awesome that he made it.

Also playing in top 8, Isaac Sears who won the WMCQ in Oakland with Rabble red and Eric Pei who I beat the last round of the WMCQ playing for top 16.

Two of the top 8s are mono-red aggro decks. I'm pleased. Brad Nelson is also piloting a Mardu list. I'm interested in what he is running.

I actually know Denis as well. Beat him at a the last PTQ I played in.

So I'm 3-0 in my last 3 matches vs. players in top 8.

Took LP's jeskai list to scg 5k IQ. x-2 money. Am massive idiot and my losses could have been wins if I wasn't an idiot.
I don't know the story but I think Jeff Hoogland thought he could draw into top 8 but he got 9th. Maybe it wasn't an intentional draw.

True. He's essentially played the same deck the last few seasons regardless of color make up. Super happy for him as he has done the best out of the 4 from our LGS that went.

Didn't get a second playmat today getting knocked out by double Deflecting Palm from my Jeskai opponent. Got 4th. Loving my Temur Rabble/Knuckleblade deck.

The Mardu list seems to be constructed specifically to catch decks unaware. Not sure of its lifetime if you're going to run it regularly.

I like the list. I tried to pitch Outburst but no one would listen lol. Not a fan of Roc over Mouthbreather though. That card is so good right now.

Z's favorite deck wins.

Absent all my previous salt, the GP was great. Bunch of my friends made day 2, 1 top 8'd. Boss sligh is back.

I would also run Stormbreath over Roc in that list. The only question if you would run 3 or just run 2 and add another Sarkhan.
