Legacy Staples

When Steven Menendian was posting his Legacy reviews/checklists on SCG, I took the time to compile it into a nifty excel file, ordered by sets (I prefer to order it this way, it helps me keep track of additions from new sets). The trouble is that since he moved on from SCG (after Worldwake), I cannot find these any longer.

Therefore I took an educated guess on what staples have been added since. The point of this thread is to ask for some opinions on these lists, and hopefully keep track of new additions as a future sticky.

I plan to do a similar thing with a vintage checklist if this goes well.

The fetches in khans don't count, and I'd exclude Khans for now, it's too early to tell what will and won't be a staple (although in this case, it's pretty likely Treasure cruise will be )

I'll post what I think you could get rid off when I get back from class (need to leave in a bit), but I feel that a good chunk of the cards posted (especially from zendikar) though are playable, aren't really staples.

Toxic Deluge is definetely a staple though at this point though, card is playable in pretty much any BUG variant, and sees maindeck play in Shardless BUG

Dig Through Time from Khans is probably gonna be a staple. I'd also include Monastery Swiftspear. It's basically Goblin Guide 5-8

Most of us Legacy enthusiasts are well aware of the relevant work that Steven Menedian has vcarried out in compiling a detalied checklist of Legacy staples.

Unfortunately, the most recent publicly available list dates back to 2009, circa the Zendikar block, so our DTR's fienst Legacy enthusiasts have undertaken the task of completing this list with the additions from the more recent blocks following Zendikar.

For the sake of clarity, we have decided against updating the list for the blocks preceding Worldwake, and we have restricted ourselves to a more compact list of the Legacy additions of each block, sorted by expansion.

I'd say Zombie Fish makes the cut. It's showing up in Grixis Delver and was in an Open-winning list. It's certainly a "playable" but if this list is strictly "staples" then it probably doesn't make the cut, but neither do a lot of other cards listed.

Yeah we could probably trim a few cards from the list too. Unless we make tier-A and tier-B listings like Menendian did in his original listings.
