No, when your damage prevention shield prevents the first instance of damage, it is redirected, then the shield is removed. Further damage will go through as usual.

Actually, I don't hate that card. Would love to play it right now, when a huge Desecration Demon/Polukranos is about to get my opponent ahead in the damage race against Burn. But unfortunately, that won't be a thing in a month.

If my opponent has 3 life and plays Siege Rhino, and in response to it's EBT trigger I cast Deflecting Palm, do I win or does my opponent remain at 3 life?

I believe the rhino doesn't "deal damage" they lose life, so the point is mute.

But they'd stay at 3 life since the helix effect is all simultaneous.
