Seems like we played similar decks Zman. Were turn 2 Borderland Marauders tearing up games for you? I had a few games where I went Borderland Marauder -> Infernofist for either a 5/2, swing, then kill their dude on their end step. Even without the enchantment, the Marauder seemed to really apply pressure.

Yeah that card is good like all 3 power two drops always are. The big performers were mostly Forge Devil and Roughrider; yes it's mostly just worse than Marauder but having access to such an aggressive 3 drop is a real boon. Goblin Looter was great too.

Since all the regular Legacy and Modern tournaments in my area are canceled because of the Prereleases, I decided to log into my old MTGO account instead of going out.

The Beta is actually worse than it was last summer. How does that happen?

Went red for prerelease, for unplayable red a d built bg wIth three bombs, two mind rot, two sign in blood, and 2 elvish mystic but zero removal.

Ended up finishing fifth at x-1, beating all the pw decks, and losing in the last round to gw tokens with lots of convoke. Actually should have boarded into a bad red green deck to try and win cause the rock did zero chance.

My booty included jace, lily, goblin rabblemaster, hushwing gryff and soul of zendikar.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

My initial appraisal is that RB anything, RW anything, GW convoke are the deepest archetypes. Blue has looked awful every time I see it. LPs BG seems reasonable actually.

I'm keen to explore BW too since there seems to be a lot of synergies there.

The top 4 at my prerelease were RB, RW, BW, and GB, so that might be good read.

As the walkers go, I saw three in play last night. Garruk is gross if you're remotely stable, Chandra looked unbeatable in any aggressive deck, and Ajani was very powerful, but boardstate dependant.

Didn't see Jace, Lily, or nissa in action. The souls all seemed very reasonable with the red one likely the best in a neutral game.

Idk what everyone was on, but in the last round, it was gw, two gb, and one red based naya deck at the top 2 tables with both gb decks (me and our best player) getting aggrod out.

I went against Lily twice. She's annoying, but the best use for her I saw was tutoring up bombs. The discard was annoying, sort of.

Generator servant is a pretty unfair card when com bones with any reasonable 5+ drops, especially if you have any other action going on.

I'm not good, just better. But playing and learning from Nick Watson and Wilfy Horig every week plus chatting to Frank Karsten on occasion helps.

Also Kait is very good.

I went Bant convoke with blue for unsummons, two Military Intelligences, and Illusionary Angel. Genesis Hydra is amazing. I played him for 5, fetched an Avacyn. Next turn I unsummoned him. Next turn I played him for 7, fetching Resolute Angel ftw.

I went 2-1-1, losing to RB when I flooded out badly both games. I tied the last game since my opponent and I wanted to leave and get some guaranteed packs. I pulled two Urborgs, a foil Llanawar Wastes, and a foil Hornet Queen.

GPT's are mostly a waste of time.

I only play them when I have nothing else going on, I REALLY want to play magic, or I need practice.

Also, Jelly that you get to attend multiple WMCQ. America too big.

How was M13 limited? I only did one prerelease with that (u/w flyers), and no draft. Actually, I did the exact same with M14 (with much, much better U/W flyers deck), but still heard more about the meta.
I would think green would be stronger in M13, due to Farseek, beast tracker, acidic slime etc.
