Hey everyone; I'm playing in a modern PTQ this weekend and played against LaZerBurn who suggested I ask here to get ideas for my deck for this weekend;
My current list is as follows;
4 Skullcrack
4 Goblin Guide
4 Rift Bolt
3 Flames of the Blood Hand
2 Grim Lavamancer
4 Lava Spike
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Shard Volley
3 Lightning Helix
3 Vexing Devil
4 Keldon Marauders
4 Boros Charm
4 Arid Mesa
2 Plains
8 Mountain
4 [card]Sacred
Foundry[/card]
Sideboard
1 Blood Moon
2 Path to Exile
3 Smash to Smithereens
2 [card]Wear/Tear[/card]
1 Leyline of Sanctity
2 Relic of Progenitus
2 Molten Rain
2 Torpor Orb
Possible cards to add to the deck;
Clifftop Retreat, for additional dual-colour lands (might be a little slow though)
I unfortunately do not have any additional fetches nor do I have access to them for the weekend at this point.
If anyone can give thoughts on this deck and any improvements/changes it would be GREATLY appreciated..

I have played 0 games of Modern, but I plan on building a similar deck. Probably want 0 Shard Volley on 18 lands and 4 Wear // Tear in the board. Consider Gitaxian Probe to "thin" the deck and inform you of what to play around. Will also make 18 lands seem like 19 or so and will further the utility of Grim Lavamancer.

Master Lotus, there's a saying around here that if you're gonna play a deck, make it a Zem deck:
I actually think this
is the best R/W Burn deck I've seen. At least on paper. I haven't actually played with it because I prefer the R/b variants.
OK, so here is my first draft:
[deck=Zem's Modern Boros Burn]
Creatures
4 Goblin Guide
3 Grim Lavamancer
4 Steppe Lynx
Spells
4 Boros Charm
4 Lava Spike
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Lightning Helix
4 Rift Bolt
3 Searing Blaze
1 Shard Volley
4 Skullcrack
Lands
4 Arid Mesa
4 Marsh Flats
5 Mountain
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Sacred Foundry
Sideboard
3 Anger of the Gods
2 Flames of the Blood Hand
4 Kor Firewalker
2 Rest in Peace
4 Smash to Smithereens
[/deck]
Kor Firewalker is my anti-Zoo/Storm/Mirror tech.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

I second Khao's suggestion to play a Zem deck Given your restrictions on fetch lands I'd try - 4 Steppe Lynx - 2 land + 4 Vexing Devil + 1 Grim + 1 Shard Volley
Thanks to NerdBoyWonder for the awesome sig

Don't know if you've already seen this, but...I really want someone to take this, play it, and tell me how it does.
Cuz, I'm like lazy and stuff.

I'll watch it one day. Like I said, I'm lazy. Lol
I've played the deck before, but it was last year before the Legend rule was changed. Now you don't get as much bang for your buck from the Flagstones.
