You might be able to get by with Steam Vents, Sulfur Falls and Cascade Bluffs. Although, I do think you're a bit limited by not having Tarns because Grim Lavamancer becomes much less effective.

You can do it. Just run Sulfur Falls instead of fetches, adjust your manabase accordingly, and swap Grim Lavamancer for Runechanter's Pike.

That's what I'm looking to build. 8 islands, 3 mountains, 4 steam vents and 4 sulfur falls. And I think pikes do more for the deck than lavamen do anyway.
