Actually I am just bitter because I own no dragons.

Going to play in a paper tourney Sunday. Given random LGS I have to play Firedancers, expecting creatures. I don't have YP (nor have I practiced with him) and only 1 BO (NO ONE WILL TRADE ME THIS CARD).
Kid still has the mutavaults (so I will be running 3x Temple of Silence) and cacklers in his 'taur deck.
Totally on the fence with Viashino Firstblade. I literally have no idea if UWx / BW is on the Blind Obedience plan or not. Maybe get their early and try to garner info.

Looking like a board of:
[deck]
4 Firedrinker Satyr
3 Satry Firedancer
1 Chained to the Rocks.
1 Blind Obedience
1 Mizzium Mortars
1 Fated Conflagration
1 Spark Trooper
[/deck]
And I some combination of 4 total of Viashino Firstblade, Assemble, Wear//Tear, Glare of Heresy, maybe 2nd spark trooper. Would probably not run both VFB and AtL.

If I put
in Glare I will go to 2 Mizzium Mortars cutting Conflag

Without mutavaults my control matchups are weaker. But that just means I am bricked even harder by blind obedience... so I am probably going to cheat towards that.

IF I eschew the viashino ... side boarding vs. mono black is a little tricky. I want to take out 3 searing blood and 3 shock. Assemble goes in, Chained goes in. I guess 4 Firedrinkers. If I try to 2nd level them and run only 4 pheonix... Zealots go out and leave in 2 searing blood or shock (depending on my Pack Rat Expectation Value).

It was an excellent article, though four of the lists discussed were mine and a 5th was a variation of mine by, from memory, two cards. Wescoe's list is basically my last CFB one, without update for current meta trends, which I guess is a compliment.

similarly, RW Burn was a deck before you even got into Standard this season, so we could say your 500 different lists are a compliment to them

point being not sure why you say totally unhelpful things like that, being a CFB content provider it is obvious that you are a source for the deck currently

Burn looked very different before I rebuilt it for GP Melbourne (and it certainly wasn't successful before then). As for why I feel the need to mention it; like anyone I just want recognition for the effort.

And it wasn't even my idea, also I don't see why everyone focused on the ricochet which I used maybe once in that premier, instead of BO maindeck which was bald, gave me an edge in some matches, but isn't really maindeckable (that is until even more people hop onto burn).

I'm really suprised Young Pyromancer isn't discussed in Craig's article. I suppose if he's basically going off lists that are 2+ weeks old it makes sense, but that card has been absolutely incredible for me in testing lately. After noticing many sideboard guides suggesting -X Ash Zealots and +X Pyromancer in almost every match up, I cut Ash Zealots for YP in the main and they seem stronger, though running some number of both may be the right call.

it was relevant enough online for me to adjust my sideboard for it and talk to you about it leading up to Melbourne, and as a Daily reviewer I know the deck was not nothing.

he credited the 7 people who won with the deck in that window of time. win a premier event with it, everyone has their eyes on those things right now because everything else is down (and they're damn good competition)

23rd at GP Melbourne is falling in the past and no pro tour player is gonna reference DTR in their article if they're lurking as a guest

you know i'm not here to take anything away from you. but you should be glad the deck has someone of craig wescoe's caliber writing about it at all, when he could just as easily write some shit about how to attack esper in the meta, but he didn't. RW burn isn't going away, that's what I take away from all this recent attention. you have a set coming up with a RW god in it. keep putting up those numbers. worry less about who is getting credited. if the next set of article lists all have 4 rakdos cackler then we will celebrate the big z.

Well, most gpts I play in, everyone already has the buys and they feel like playtesting tournaments.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

I want to find the slot for the 4th mutavault, but where does it come in? Control and what, the mirror? That doesnt seem right. Mono-Black? Or basically just control?

And on that note, goddamn my sideboard is SUPER tight now -_-

I like it against control, mono-black, and the mirror.

Against mono-black, it helps you cast assemble, improves you threat density, and ensures you hit land drops which is marginally important.

Vs the mirror, you're playing the(relatively) long game and thus you want to hit those land drops, grind down cards, and kill them with mutavault and whatever else you have left over. This applies more to agressive red decks in general but is also applicable to the mirror.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

I actually put the 4th vault MD (upping my land count into 24) last night - I proceed to get stuck on one land vs Z in the first 8-Man I entered... (though I had a rather insane hand if it worked out, 2x Shock, 2x YP$, 1x Cack, Magma Jet, Mountain - I'm glad that the game rewarded me with WLH vs Non-WLH for next two rounds)

if you ask me vs all the T1 decks you want the extra lands (Monsters, Control, Black and Mirror) since you
need to either counter lifegain, 2-4-1 fatties or just defend with vaults while dealing damage.

I own one foil Assemble in paper, played it in the finals of a small standard tournament on Tuesday to the surprise and dismay of my opponent who was on B/w devotion, who had no answer. Such a good feeling.

He's probably still salty about the brutal beating I put on him two weeks ago. Just because his version of the deck was terrible doesn't mean that there are no competent deck builders out there.

I dont know how to fit the 4th mutavault in my board. I guess cut Chandra O.o
