Not exactly. Having a degree has some level of value just by being a degree, regardless of major. The difference is that STEM degrees lead to better paying jobs that have something to with what learned in college.Degrees in non technical fields are basically worthless. Engineering/math/science are the only ones worth getting basically.
And some of it is in the fact that it is a socially acceptable to engage in knowledge porn, IE the dedicated acquisition of knowledge for knowledge's sake.

thanks to nbw for the sig.
You do need to try to gay it up a little more.
You're like the least gay member of this clan.
And that's counting the fact that you voluntarily have sex with men.

Has anyone ever seen that list of things you could have bought instead of going to college?
Going to college is essentially the same as driving a Mercedes off a cliff every year for four years.
Unless you're getting an engineering degree, it's rarely worth it.

I am led to believe that I'm probably the only one here without a college degree.
And that everyone else with a degree is really just Pennywise the Clown telling me to come down into the sewers because down there everyone floats.

You can't be a psychologist with one. You'd need a masters at a minimum.Because you can't be a psychologist without one?
I have a better idea. Be an astrologer. You don't need a degree for that and you get to use all the stuff you learned in your psych classes already. It's basically cold reading, some bullshit and some buzzwords. You get to make people feel better about their lives and you can charge a couple hundred bucks a session. You'll get repeat customers and referrals all the time.
So basically it's the same thing.

With this kind of plan, you cant go wrong. You can't be a psychologist with one. You'd need a masters at a minimum.Because you can't be a psychologist without one?

can't be a "counselor" without a bachelors. It depends on the state you live in, of course.

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible in America. My tuition was something like $3.5k/year/community college and $7k/year/university.Has anyone ever seen that list of things you could have bought instead of going to college?

Khaos, I'm a little late to this, but I'm not going to tell you to get your degree because degrees open doors or whatever. I've got 2 of them and they're completely worthless. Actually, they're worse than that. They actually hinder me from getting jobs because I'm somewhere between "overqualified" and "not experienced enough" even though I did exactly what you're suppose to do, graduate from high school and then get a college degree.
But there's a caveat to this. If you're not going to get a degree (and I doubt you'll have my problem because of your work experience) and follow the typical life plan everyone follows, you better know what the hell you want to do. You're entering the wilderness in the hopes you can get the white stag or find the city of gold. The wilderness will eat you if you fuck up. Even if you make it out alive after fucking up, you'll have nothing but failure to show for
it.
I think you should figure out what you want to do first and then seriously contemplate if you want to put your entire future on the line for it. If there's any hesitation, don't do it. If you fail, you will be worse off than when you started.

This. So much this. Makes me depressed and angry just thinking about it.I've got 2 of them and they're completely worthless. Actually, they're worse than that. I can't be a drug lord. I tried it and failed. I just like to get high more than I like making money.
Guess I'd better start studying my star signs...
