Holy fuck, Feyd_Ruin tech support goldmine!

Seriously, that's the best he's got -- "Are you connected to the internet?" and "Are you sure you're pressing the "send" button?" ???
The best part is the sign-off though: "i'm honestly not sure. " As if that wasn't already obvious.

Perhaps the most honest post Feyd has ever made. Rather than giving non-help which is at best snarky and useless or at worst outright dangerous, he instead gives this guy a walk-through on how to use the Feedback button to contact the, y'know, ACTUAL tech support guys.

Bear with me guys, the IP ban makes it really difficult to properly quote.
Since no one's jumped on this one in the last 15 days, I figure it's time to clear the air a bit. Poor Dutch253 is still getting redirects, and so on Feb. 6th, 2 days post-transition, molester decides to come in and say his piece.
Just for the sake of completeness, I did a quick Google Image Search for that word, but sadly all the results were too graphic to post on this site. My favoritest part is that the link he uses even gives him the correct spelling of the word, but, well, in typical Freudian fashion, he must have had something else on his mind. [Hint: it's probably cock.. what else would you expect from a guy who could have chosen any screen name he wanted but still went with "molester"?]
Anyway.
This is a blatant and obvious lie, and anybody who's had more than, say, a semester of computer training in grade school knows this. Dickware Malware simply cannot be distributed or activated in this fashion; even if it were, the files would have to transferred to your computer, and the only possible source of those files would be from your site... oddly enough, computers can't download information to themselves. Also oddly enough, that link
he provides actually says this:
but I suppose we can't expect reading the source material from a guy who doesn't even bother running spellcheck.
Here's a test you can run yourself. It should be the same process regardless of browser with minor differences, but I'm using Firefox.
Right click anywhere on the screen that isn't a hyperlink. This brings up a menu of options, click "View Page Info." This, in turn, brings up a little window telling you horribly boring stuff about the website; click the "Media" [or "Processes"} tab to see a list of all the stuff that the site itself is trying to do to your computer. Scroll about 2/3 of the
way down this list and you will eventually find something that looks a bit like this:
The part I've bracketed is fairly self-explanatory: to "embed" something is to "put it in" or, in molester-speak, "penetrate slowly and deeply with a thrusting action." It also, coincidentally, means that every single word the man just said is a full-on, bald-faced lie.

Now, before we go any further, let's all take a moment to admire this:The redirects are due to maleware on the users end. There is nothing that can be done on this end to prevent it. It is not the ads doing it, but maleware on the user end using the ads to redirect.

[Underline mine]It is noted that a certain code bundled with fake software download are the culprit for this adtrack.king.com hijacking problems. Additionally, it is said to be that the beneficiary for this redirect is a program called Candy Crash Saga.

re: redirecting ads
That sounds like a glitch more the "current ad strategy." I'll see if I can get someone to look at things.
In the meantime, if you can get screen shots of the ads that may help the tech identify the problem.
You post on dtr? Cool? Honestly, I don't know who posts there and who doesn't.
I actually read that site quite a bit but its mostly because a lot of the people I used to interact with on MTGS are over there.
It should be a privilege to post here

Not really, sorry. It's basically just that people notice all the time that Wizards could be doing a hell of a lot better of a job with their spoilers; especially now with the transition and the predictable slow-down at Sally, it would make the most sense for Wizards to pimp the hell out of their own spoiling process in order to keep their most well-known competitor from regaining their readership. Sorry if I mislead you, man.

I love the way "We're looking into this" is trotted out whenever the staff wants to appear assertive/non-useless, but quickly turns into "It's a job for the Curse techs....there's nothing we can do about it" when the problem inevitably remains unfixed.

MTGS user knto says:
Yeah....good luck with that. 1) Users can't delete their accounts, 2) iridium won't delete the account for him, and 3) Feyd certainly won't do anything about it because he's discovered the perfect excuse/explanation/scapegoat for everything - "Curse techs".My inbox is filled with spam from mtg salvation. This was never an issue with the old site. I don't need to get emailed every time someone so much as breathes in my direction. So my question is: How do I stop receiving an email every time someone personal messages me? If I cannot find a solution I will just delete my account. Thank you for your time.

You do understand that moderators have absolutely 0 control over things, right?
No, I can't add tapatalk.
That's up to them, and I can only echo their response.
They didn't want to add it right before we moved to curse ownership.
They didn't want to add while they were building the new forum system, before the switch.
They don't want to add it right now, because they're focusing on fixing their systems.
I can only repeat their sentiments and continue to ask for something we need.
Yes, it's been two years.
Yes, that's pretty fucking horrible.
No, I still don't have any control over that.
No, I can't fix someone's broken permissions.
No, I can't fix someone's account being messed up.
No, I can't merge your accounts.
Curse can do this.
I should probably direct them there.
(And no, I can't make curse respond)
No, I don't have permission to change curse's ad network to stop the Candy Crush
fuckathon.
Nor can I do a damn thing about the annoying as fuck ads.
I can only tell them about the possible outside malware that lets our Candy Crush happen, and encourage adblock.
Basically, please stop getting mad at me for shit I can't control.
All this shit pisses me off as much as it pisses you/them off.
Edit:
I'm not asking you to stop getting mad at the state of things.
Just the fact that I can't do shit about it.

Oh, lulzilla! Decided to have your Gethsemene, eh?
The reason we keep laughing, sir, or getting mad, or whatever, isn't because you have no power! We've known that for yeeeeeeeaaaaaars. The Reason we keep reacting is because you still act like you do.
But if you do feel the need for some busywork, you could mention to Ned from the Geek Squad that banning my IP is mildly annoying.

Not sure how I gave anyone that impression. The Reason we keep reacting is because you still act like you do.
Saying "I'm forwarding to curse" or "I'll keep pestering curse about tapatalk" or "I can't fix you, but I'll make sure they know and upload stuff for you"
.. well, it doesn't really come off as "I have power" to me.
Maybe I'm wrong.
ok?Screenshotted, btw.
Not sure why.
My sentiments stand.
I've never been one to hold my opinion because someone doesn't like it.

I mean, I don't know what you'd like me to say, dude. In all honesty, and forgive me for waxing poetical (you caught me in the middle of my Lenten listen-through of JCS ), it really does feel like you've climbed the mount in these arid lands asking us to take away thine cup of poison. Which would be alright, except you're asking the wrong group of guys. I wouldn't hold back the answer if I had it, either; you're not such a bad guy, I actually wish you'd blather more with us, but also because it would go against the grain of what I founded this thread to be...
..but, well, you [i:k7uei7yd]did[/i:k7uei7yd] decide to post your little diatribe in the thread dedicated in large part to your ineffectual moderation skills/style. I suppose I could go back and reiterate the common points (real quicklike, they mostly revolve around you
being lazy), but to be honest, there's just no easy way to tell you that someone who really cared about their job [u:k7uei7yd]could very easily[/u:k7uei7yd] have gotten something accomplished if they really wanted to; point of reference, it took me about 10 minutes last week to get my boss to sign a check for enough money to buy ol' Sally twice over at least, and that sort of thing is common both on and off the internet.. if you don't like the status quo, you either change it, or you get out of the way so someone else with more chops in the ol' social engineering department can do it for you; doing otherwise just prolongs the inevitable, perhaps disastrously, and confirms that laziness I give you so much shit for ITT. When you tell us that you have zero power, or that you don't understand why we keep up the shitstorm despite your obvious powerlessness, we (and most people) recognize that as simply trying to pass the buck, and we're right to do so.

Perhaps I overreacted, but I'm really frustrated with the state of things.
It's quite a sorespot for me, and I've considered stepping down over some of it.
Sure, I admit I can be lazy at times, but that's really not the larger problem here.
Take the two people who can't upload anything (7th or 8th thread down).
I PMd an admin and curse. When that didn't work, I sent more.
When that didn't work, I told them about image hosting, and that I would personally upload anything they wanted.
They can email me any attachment, and I'll DL it and then upload it to MTGS for them.
(K, I did space on Imageshack. I hadnt been there in a while, but it was really good).
It makes me want to bash my head against a wall.
Things have been declining this way for some time.
If I do something stupid, yes - call me out on it.
Hey, maybe mtgs is the problem with that one guy's
ipad.
I really do think its a bad connection or a bad touchpad, though.
Show me I'm wrong, and I'll wear a duntz hat for a while.
(No seriously, I will photoshop a hat that says Duntz into my avvy)
I'm just asking not to single me out for the things that MTGS higher ups won't do.
Hell, you may have even had the direct intent of just trolling me with this.
Doesn't matter either way. Your opinion is stated, and I take it.
I'm just not the kind of person to say "Yes Sir" and move forward when I feel like I'm doing everything I can (within reason).
You see, the thing is I've always been dedicated to this community.
Not to MTGS. Not to hannes, and not to Curse.
That's why your opinions matter to me.
I don't get on DTR and blathe as much as I'd like.
Then again, I don't blather on mtgs much either.
(Hell, I've made like 5 posts outside of Tech Support and Games so far this year)
It's all the same to me.
The URL, the
people in charge.. those are inconsequential from my view.
Its why I gave up my tech spot on MTGS to help MTGNews back in the day.
I'd do it again.
Sure, my attitude changes a bit when I'm on this url.
I'm able to speak more openly and freely, and I like that.
But in the end, your opinions matter to me.
