Indeed this is good. Small block, rare, under 3cmc, Stops extra draw, easy to cast, and hits for 3. I preorded this for $5 a pop. Why not and it feels like a long term investment.Holy shit, I'm in love. I so wanna play white weenie.
LOL.

If I were splashing red it would be for Counterflux and Slaughter Games and maybe Dreadbore.

I got Han Solo. The test waited 20 seconds to give me an answer though. Am I that hard to get a character call?

Re: UB- My only concern is that Trading Post might be a little too slow, but that'd be something to test. Justify Platemail over Aetherling? Speed + recurrability I assume?
Encroaching Wastes isn't going to help you against Nykthos, for 2 reasons - a) If it's turn 5, I have Nykthos, and Nykthos is making a significant amount of mana, that means you've failed to kill most of my dudes and are far behind anyway. b) If you've done the control thing and killed most of my dudes, Nykthos doesn't do anything anyway. There are definitely situations where it'll be good, but I think 80-90% of the time it won't help.

Wat
Spirit of the Labirynth: that's a fine piece of a card. Doesn't solve biggest Wx Weenie's issue which is getting sweeped by every single fucking deck that matters tho. WR Weenie would be really good with him, Spear of Heliod, Brimaz and Heliod except that I don't think deck like that can hold on it's own to UB/MonoB.
Fated Infatuation: not sure if I already said that. It should be a trash. Should be, as there's UW Heroic. Not sure if manacost will allow anyone to play it.
Herald of Torment: might be cool in non-R meta. Lifeloss doesn't matter that much, especially if you'll bestow him on something cool.
Chrowatheverunplayablepieceofshit: because it's not like someone will play 5C control and THEN put piece of shit like that in it?
Heroe's Podium: is this Kamigawa or something?

Yeah. Aetherling is also a 7 drop and much harder to defend in counter-wars to get it to resolve. You can run Platemail into counters with indifference since you can just get it back later. Platemail is also free once it gets going; Aetherling costs a lot of mana to go to work with, especially against other control decks.Re: UB- My only concern is that Trading Post might be a little too slow, but that'd be something to test. Justify Platemail over Aetherling? Speed + recurrability I assume?
My experience with this sort of deck is that once you can control their board position, you won't have much trouble killing or countering everything that comes after, so a simple 4/4 and some 2/2s is a very sufficient kill condition.
Trading Post +
Mutavault even blanks removal (can sac. in repsonse to removal to get back an artifact); so you can really lock an opponent out of the game.

Hey all. Finally woke up.
Played in the limited GP this weekend. After my two byes, I started 3-0, before losing 3 in a row and being dead for day 2. At least I was sitting next to Paul Cheon who similarly died with me.
Hung out with ham a bit and met his lady who's awesome.
I told him I'd make up for the GP by winning the Sunday super series and I got FUCKED by the event staff. I started 5-0 in a seven round event that was SUPPOSED to cut to top 8. Instead, round 7, they announced that it was a cut to top 4 after I already ID round 6. Since I was 3rd place and not first or second when round 7 started, my ID was essentially a loss meaning I had to play and win my last round instead of the draw which I had expected and already told my friends about me top 8'ing. I summarily lost to the mirror(peak eruption was a blowout) and proceed to go off on the event staff.
The owner of CFB talked to me and another man
individually and told us that they made a typo and fucked up the event math meaning they had to cut a round to leave on time and they "compensated" us with half a box and announced that all the people that would have top 8'd would receive two boxes instead of the one. So I ended up taking away almost three boxes, but it was basically irrelevant to me as I feel I was robbed of a chance to win a sweet tournament. It was divided into a standard and a sealed tourney with the top 4 from each participating in a draft and the winner getting a ticket to wizards to play in some big cash prize tourney along with tours and things of that nature.
I also 3 pros over the course of the weekend including Pat Cox in a side event on Friday(out played and out sideboarded him), Ben something(pro player from the old days of magic, he bumped me out of day 2) and Greg hatch in the Standard tourney(he got second at the SCG invitational and showed me how good mono-blue was as he nearly beat me in a game where he only
drew 2 islands for lands and I monstroused 2 stormbreath dragons).

At a pivotal decision point. Now that I know how easy grinding is, I'm at a loss at how much effort I should put into getting 3 byes for the season. I'm 800 points away but I made 700 in month and it didn't feel that hard.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

That seems fine too.I'd ditch the Pyrewild for a less linear singleton, like Chandra.
I just want the deck to have good PWs (so maybe Xenagos?) so that it is more wrath resilient.
