Show of hands, did communism ever really get a fair shot to prove itself viable?
Yes, the proper response to communism is the Romanian response
In the wake of the revolution, 1104 people died.

You should probably move to Canada. This doesn't happen. We also have no pennies, making that guy paying with the jar of change a thing of the past. Or at least, much less annoying.
I'm all plans and no means at the moment. But the motherland will have me back someday.
You could just walk. Michigan is pretty close.

Unless I want to cross the border, shoot myself in the leg, and cash in on some sweet free hospital time, I'll have noplace to stay. :P

I wouldn't recommend bringing a gun across the border though. Shoot yourself with something else.

This author from Ireland came up to our door a while back. Apparently authors selling their books door-to-door is common over the pond? Anyway, I talked to him for quite a while and my wife ended up inviting him for dinner (he declined), so that might be a good angle to look at. Just make sure you've got some interesting stories and you're good to go!

It would only take you 364 hours to walk to my house. I'd give you a couch for a night. I could even assist in stabbing your way into a hospital if that's still your best option.

I live near the southern border, so, plus ~40 hours. But, hey! A couch and a knife are in the cards here.

My brother's a communist. He plays video games and TCG's on a regular basis. Sometimes I wonder whether that would be possible in a communist society.
not only would it be possible but jaces would be worth as much as chimney imps because filthy capitalist speculators would be given the rope and china would provide a steady flow of counterfeit jaces to make up for the demand. Also shiny pokemon would be as likely as regular ones.

Even dyed-in-the-wool socialist reformers admit that stuff like video games, movies, and TCGs would most likely not only be viable but flourish as a necessity in a communist society, as a means of distributing pablum to the masses. Nor is this without precedent, ancient Greece/Rome had some pretty severe communistic tendencies and they fed Christians to lions as a form of mass entertainment.
