I think I played against something similar, but with Glint Hawk Idol instead of actual Glint Hawk. Didn't seem good, but I was playing monoU so that's not surprising.@ Alex. 2 power flier beats and burn. Usually the early game is tough; but once the engines are online the game cascades very quickly.

A Blue mage said "GG" before playing his first card. Apparently he had the godhand of double MoW.
What he didn't know is that I had Rod of Ruin in hand.
Image = My expression, exactly.

The thrill of playing a long tournament without smelly basement dwellers or fumes from the smokers outside makes MTGO worth any amount of Kibler-inspired downtime. Bonus points if you get to chat with your FoS buddies on stream while you do it.I need to get involved in this MODO business. I think I'll have a much better time grinding if my opponent is a faceless peon instead of one I have to smell and talk to.

Man, I really thought today was my day.
Started off 6-1 at StarCityGames Open Providence and was flying high. 10 rounds, 500 people.
Then I ran into two Mono Blue decks and lost two extremely close game 3's.
Then maybe it was the 10 hours of magic, or just on tilt but in a game 3 vs G/R monsters, I had a really easy win, and blew it. Bad. So bad I can't even type it.
Ran Owen T's list from his most recent article.
[deck]Main Deck
4 Foundry Street Denizen
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Firefist Striker
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Gore-House Chainwalker
2 Ash Zealot
4 Chandra's Pheonix
4 Shock
4 Lightning Strike
4 Mutavault
3 Blood Crypt
15 Mountain
Sideboard
4 Fanatic of Mogis
4 Boros Reckoner
4 Toil and Trouble
2 Peak Eruption
1 Blood Crypt[/deck]
Looking back, I might have taken out Zealot and Foundry Street.
The sidboard plan was fucking awesome morphing into Red
Devotion.
Here was the breakdown
Round 1 - 2-1 Win vs Esper
Round 2 - 2-1 Loss vs Bant Midrange(unflinching courage)
Round 3 - 2-0 Win vs B/W Midrange
Round 4 2-0 Win vs Junk Midrange
Round 5 - 2-0 Win vs Esper
Round 6 - 2-0 Win vs G/R Monsters
Round 7 2-1 Win vs Esper
Round 8 - 2-1 Loss vs Mono Blue
Round 9 2-1 Loss vs Mono Blue
Round 10 2-1 Loss to G/R Monsters(had game 3 if not for being complete tilted moron)

The Hyperion Cantos four sci-fi books by Dan Simmons. In order, Hyperion, Fall of Hyperion, Endymion, Rise of Endymion, are the best sci-fi books I have read yet. It features one of the most awesome and terrifying things in sci-fi: the Shrike.Quick, I'm really bored and need a suggestion of a good sci-fi or fantasy book to read
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. It's a modern day series about a wizard living in Chicago. He's up to book 13 out of 20. Amazingly good writing, though the first book is a bit of a slog since he's still finding his voice as a writer. By book two he's
better, and each book gets even better. He's big on plot arcs as well. Something that begins in the third book isn't resolved until nine books later, and it impacts everything else in the series.
The Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. It's the series of books that Game of Thrones on HBO is based on.
If you haven't read them yet, then those should keep you busy for a while.

I just finished The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss and it wasn't horrible. It's part one of a trilogy he's only written two books for. When he finishes part three I'll re-read it and then finish the series.Quick, I'm really bored and need a suggestion of a good sci-fi or fantasy book to read

Alex - nope. Mine was created from Z's infinite wisdom.
Doc - Love 'em. Me, Raida, Z, and Nerdboy make a sweet aggro deck.
Raida - the Ender series by Orson Scott Card (the 8 originals) or the original 6 Dune books. Both are absolutely briliant. The Hyperion Cantos windstrider suggested are pretty good as well, but I personally wouldn't rank them as highly as Dune or Ender.
If you want fantasy, A. A. Attanasio's Arthor series are fuckin great, though I haven't finished the last just yet so I'm hesitant to make a final judgment without having seen his conclusion.

@ Doc, amazing. Could I get you to remake it without FS? On second thoughts it's not needed for balance and the design is more elegant that way. Lovely art / choices.
@ FIA, also amazing. Really got to see all the moving pieces working together!

Thanks for all the book suggestions guys
A lot of those I've already read like Ender's Game, and Song of Ice and Fire, but the rest got thrown into a .txt for use
Also, the cards are awesome! Though, now that I'm looking at it, I think NerdBoyWonder's card is extremely op. As in, you win turn 2.
Cause if I'm reading it right, when it enters, you pick itself since it's on the battlefield and is a non-land permanent. You then get a copy of him that enters, etc, etc, etc. And they all have haste.
So turn two you have an arbitralily large army of hasters and win... Tiny bit op
Should probably not be able to copy himself, though if you just took away haste that
might work too, though it'd still be able to make an 'infinite' amount of itselves... Would como nicely with my card ;P

Doclawless did us proud with those cards. Thanks
It is cold wet and rainy at the Boerne Airport. Some dumb ass made a wide turn in a Citation and run off the taxi way into the mud. It's not as if these planes don't costs millions. They gave up for the time being trying to dig it out (mud needs to dry). I ain't touching that damn thing with a ten foot pole even if it's in my job purview. That plane can only take the weight from the landing gear, which is stuck in a foot of mud, thus raising it from other pressure points is risky beyond belief and money. They hired a professional crew to dig it out THANK GOD, but large planes can't pass there now. Here is a picture for you to point and laugh at. I like to buy a cool
patch here and there for my tac vest and this one caught my eye from milspec monkey. We should make a military style patch (velcro backed) for FoS instead of sleeves cause they wear out fast Proposed version
I COME

I LEAVE

Wow...I'm just pretty well rocked back in my seat. The kid started off the GP going 3-1 through his first 4 matches!! I doubt I would have done as well. Next report had him at 4-2 and running into serious competition. Given the field, he finished the day at 4-5...at 10 years old, that seems pretty remarkable. He came away from the day with a new playmat by RK Post, so he's quiteOkay guys...check it out. My 10-year-old great nephew is registering his deck for GP Albuquerque.
And what do you see? MOUNTAINS!!!! Red Devo is what I think they finally decided on...he really misses his BW Tokens deck.
the happy kid.
