Which MMO, Fate?

A friend couple of ours convinced us to play FF XIV for a couple weeks, instead of board game night.

The game is gorgeous, but desperately needs quality of life improvements. The grindy gear token system at endgame is pretty standard, but is something Fate and I avoid in games - we think GW2 might be the best MMO ever made, because it throws out the linear progression model.

FF XIV is very vanilla and not innovative. Wouldn't recommend. We'll prob play until our free sub runs out and move on, which has shown us how far we've grown as people vs. original WoW era.

Me and another friend had a long discussion last night about MMOs and ESO came up and he said it was "basically Skyrim except there's other people sometimes" so it didn't sound all that multiplayer >_>
