Just fucking with ya.
redthirst is redthirst, fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was the leader of the Fires of Salvation, the only clan I'm aware of to get modded off the forums so hard they made their own forums.
Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.
Great guy to have around? Hell yes.

Really? It's pretty good on my Transformer. My only gripe is that I can't figure out how to go to past recordings. AFAIK it will only direct you to live streams.Twitch app on iPad kinda sucks...

Yep, stream was really, really awesome. I think Zem and Alex should totally go for the podcast form. Listening to them talking about format, construction and history of Red decks is actually enjoyable even without any sort of visual part. I've missed some part of it due to me going for a trip - trip got postponed though. I hope that soon they'll publish the video AND will actually do that again.
I'm currently working on UR Control they were talking about on stream.

I swear to God, every thread we make falls victim to Godwin's law except instead of Hitler it's redthirst's piece.

Yeah, I listened to the discussion on twitch. It was worth listening to, in spite of the technical difficulties. Thanks Z and the other guy. Who was the other guy?Just skip to the point where they restart, it gets better. 30 min, and hour in? Somewhere around there.
“What else,” Abba Lot says, “can I do?” Then the old man stood up, stretched his hands towards heaven and his fingers became like ten lamps of fire, and he said to him, “If you will, you can become all flame.”

I don't like the tension between Stormbreath and Chandra/Hammer:
- Chandra can't draw a card when you have dragons in your deck but no 5th land; and
- Hammer is both more resilient (doesn't die to doom blade) and I think is honestly just more powerful, everywhere; Hammer wants to make 3/3s right away.
They're both non-ideal vs. aggro; hammer is better vs. control and I think that's a key archetype to best now; dragon is better again midrange which isn't.

James, that last post needs to go in the Q&A/points of the primer. Those few lines of text pull red-based deck construction into sharp focus as far as delineating between base decks that are designed to "go big" with a transformational sideboard and boarding to maximize card strength in various MU's. I know you are just stating the facts as a given in your head, but that post is absolutely brilliant.

sorry, Z, i am purely asking here, not to contradict or oppose you. i just don't quite understand it, forgive my poor englishI don't like the tension between Stormbreath and Chandra/Hammer:

so are you saying stormbreath is only better against midrange, and even
than strombreath is still not good enough ???
so conclusion is, stormbreath is just bad ?

Hey mate, no problem, I'm here to answer questions.
I think hammer is better than dragon vs. control. Why?
- control decks don't block now;
- hammer turns every land into a threat, dramatically increasing virtual card advantage; and
- stormbreath costs 5. Hammer costs 3. It's easier to resolve a hammer; hammer doesn't die to doom blade
I think the dragon is better against midrange because midrange decks dominate the board and 3/3s don't beat 4/5s; dragon can fly over.
I'm not convinced that the dragon is good enough to curve to 5; but I don't think it's bad.
