He didn't really have a reason not to. All Islands on the field means he's not worried about Verdict, and the worst thing that could happen next turn is a Dsphere on his Cacklers. Attacking Jace is correct.

It gives u/W jace as another out (he cant play any spells BUT jace if you look ath is list)

If he goes Jace again, fog some more, with drawing a white source

then draw another white
source into verdict its a serious game.

Whereas if you ignore jace, and you dont waste burn on him, you have enough powerr on the board+burn in hand to kill him through Jace +1s. And you actually kill him faster

But if you ignore Jace and allow a second +1 and he has Dsphere in hand (which he did), you end up killing him slower. Regardless, he did have another Jace.

Attacking Jace was the correct play in a blind situation.
