I remember people telling me GW was good last year and now the mana is even worse.

FNM aside, I think dega has a lot going for it. CA, removal, sweeper, good win-cons, lifegain, hand disruption, the works. If I liked the colors more, I'd play it. That and the Gw deck we've built has actually just been amazing vs. agro and control(midrange matchup is eh).
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Dega should be a deck.

GW won't be after States, same as last year. You just can't play a linear aggro deck with mana requirements that intensive and a mana base that fragile.

I fully agree. That's actually why we build the deck base green and midrangy. It has 8 dual color two-drops, but voice and fleecemane lion are both fine midgame and the deck plays well into the later turns with witchstalker/courage giving you a super thragtusk And boon satyr and fleecemane lion doubling as threats and mana-sinks. The one color intensive white card is Ajani, and you don't mind playing it as a six drop.

As far as doing cute things go, I think he added two off color scrys in the form of basics since I convinced him that the 3 and usually 4th forest
are always dead cards and I talked to him about boarding bigger so I think he's packing at least 1 Elspeth in the board.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Any deck that wants to best GW will beat GW; that's a problem with any linear aggro deck. Whether you can afford to dedicate enough cards to the matchup is always the question.

Pyro Red (YP + Chandra) and All-in Boros both test well against GW, so you could try looking at those variants if it becomes popular again JS.

So, Mono Red control is probably nearly tier 1 in modern now. That's fucking sweet.

- Chandra and Koth are both well positioned
- Stormbreath is immune to all the removals
- Blood Moon / Molten Rain
- Skred
- Pyroclasm / Anger of the Gods
- Lightning Bolt / Burst Lightning

Yeah, there's a lot of really nice pieces available. Boggle would probably be an issue.

So your win-cons are all untouchable by common removal / interaction; you've got sweet PWs and access to the best mana denial in the format. That's got to be nearly a thing right??

So everyone, your attention please!

I just don't have time at the moment to test, work on videos and update the RDW primer. So I'm looking for volunteers. You can do whatever you like, maybe it's:
- formatting
- updating deck lists
- deleting rotated content
- fixing broken links
- providing new card evaluations

I'm hoping a few kind souls will work with me on this, if we all do our bit it should be pretty quick.

Need to:
- remove inn block
- add M14 and Theros

Thanks redbros.

PM me in a few days and I'll probably work on this. Also, it's a no-go on the stream by the way aside from text commentary.

Sorry redbro.

I will definitely contribute as far as droning on and on about how good red is though :D

Also:

4 Stormbreath Dragon
4 Magus of the Moon

3 Chandra Pyromaster
2 Koth of the Hammer

4 Lightning Bolt
1 Burst Lightning
1 Pillar of Flame

4 Skred
4 Molten rain
3 Anger of the Gods

That's the starting point I think. Cards I'd consider:

Solemn Simulacrum
Manarocks(mindstone seems the best)
Mainboard Blood Moon
Good manlands(ghitu encampment, muta, inkmonth, blinkmoth)
Grim Lavamancer Package+splash for X color. I honestly like Green for Goyf
Greater gardon/Young Pyro?
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

I like Solemn and Minstone, good ideas. Lots of different ways the deck could go, there's getting to be a density of cards to enable the archetype. You can go more traditional RDW or maybe even Ponza (that would be SWEET).

Maybe Slagstorm over Anger? Can kill walkers or go upstairs at least.

Maybe some card eval's for M14
and Theros? You're a very active player :) just the playable stuff, not the jank obviously.

2 Koth of the Hammer
3 Chandra, Pyromaster
1 Pillar of Flame
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Mind Stone
4 Stormbreath Dragon
4 Skred
3 Anger of the Gods
3 Blood Moon
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Greater Gargadon
4 Stomping Ground
4 Arid Mesa
4 Scalding Tarn
3 Ghitu Encampment
8 Snow-Covered Mountain
2 Molten Rain

Starting Point? Gardon doesn't have synergy with anything, but it gives you a turn one play and ensures you have can just win when you cast your blood moon.

Seems like a little too much work IMO but I like the idea.

I'm kinda interested in snow lands plus scrying sheets; but maybe we just want 4x tec edge.

4 Tec Edge
1 Scry Sheets
19 Snow Mountains?

I've sold myself on Goyf as a finisher, but Sheets for value is SWEET as fake CA engine along with 'walkers and the mana-denial element.

What's the uncounterable blaze if X=5? That's stupid good with Koth (-2, 14 you etc). I like that mana base. I probably want Batterskull as a finisher, I think it is just a stupidly good card.

Can someone hunt down the correct URLs for the "Member Produced Content and Resources" part of the primer? The links never got updated after the move. Thanks!

Deleted all the old content from the primer, and some outdated / unnecessary parts.

Everyone go check it out NOW! What do you think is missing? What do you think needs work?

Please PM me (don't post it here, its too hard to find) all your thoughts, ideas and contributions and I will take it all into consideration :)

Did this while playing Reid Duke's Jund list, except I revealed Sowing Salt. My friend was like "Well okay I guess that's happening" in the most dejected, yet amused tone.

Retuned after goldfishing and taking your advices... Tourney is at 11!

[deck]Boros Heroes v2[/deck]

Tried to focus the deck a bit more, so I pulled the jets strikes and hammer. In the goldfish games where I did curve 1 into 2 into enabler the game blows wide open, so I added some more to the curve.

Sideboard thoughts? Thought is to transform to big if opp can handle aggro and drop one drops and assault for embers, hundred and chains with being able to drop athlete/mantle for jets if need be.

Maybe -1 ember -1 Hundred +2 Hammer in the board?

Not running Soldier as multi prot not super helpful
in Block, but could always swap 2 for the athlete if you guys think there strong enough threats to deal with.
Some men just want to watch the planes burn. . .and most of them are here.
