Awwwww yeah, rules nerding on his first day. Boom! You know whats fun? Smashing faces on Cockatrice with the jankiest Theros combo/synergy.
T1 Overgrown tomb
T2 land Lotleth Troll
T3 Removal
T4 Whip of Erebos
T5 Removal......wait for it.......
T6 Lotleth Activation pitching Worldspine Wurm whip it with trigger on stack. Swing with a 15/15 trample lifelinker then doomblade it EOT with whip trigger on stack for 3 5/5 Trample Lifelinkers.
T7 ragequit.
You can do it turn 5 if need be. I mean a 30 point life swing always seems good....and then just finish them
off with a LOLtroll.
Sadly, you can't whip at instant speed. Even if you could, doom blading it would not stop it from getting exiled, preventing you from getting tokens.
Also, this is a big reason why I hate testing on trice. There's such terrible observance of the rules. In AVR testing I had multiple opponents playing miracles wrong, trying to drop lands in response to miracle triggers.

Three colors is usually a lot better then sealed then in other formats, though as I said, the RB deck was better with the Jund deck being more sweet then anything. I'd play the jund list just because I played rakdos all weekend and I'm sick of it(The big pull of limited is the variable experiences).
The rakdos Deck I would build would probably look like this:
[deck]1 Akroan Crusader
1 Tormented Hero
2 Deathbellow Raider
1 Satyr Rambler
1 Baleful Eidolon
1 Two-Headed Cerberus
2 Mogis Marauder
1 Ember Swallower
2 Erebos's Emissary
1 Caravan Lampad
1 Ill-Tempered Cyclops
2 Titan's Strenght
1 Ordeal of Purphuros
1 Cutthroat Tactics
1 Pharika's Cure
1 Rage of Purphuros
1 Hammer of Purphuros
1 Scourgmark
1 Dragon Mantle
9 Mountain
8 Swamp[/deck]
I'd play this noting that you can easily go -1 akrosan crusader, -1 dragon mantle, and add in two removal spells to make your deck more powerful. You
pretty much just curve out and beat down winning with hammer, swallower, or Cyclops if the game goes long. Cyclops in particular is on my radar as one of the best red cards in the set since he has a reasonable monstrous cost and becomes a 6/6 trample. Doubler agent is also sweet since you're deck is moderately creature heavy letting you combo kill people when they stumble. Overall, the deck looks fast and powerful to me. Dos Rakis if you will

Your submission is almost exactly what I ran. I did not run Cuttthroat or Pahrika's cure but ran Hemlock and Tymaret.
Maybe I'm just unlucky. I did have to mull to four in game one of the fourth match, and then to five the following game (land screw in all cases). Match one I won easily. Match two I got roflstomped by an insane pool of UR. Match three I had to draw because I was one life short of alpha striking my opponent with Mogis's Marauder so I was forced to play a dude and pass only to get Maraudered for lethal myself (that was infuriating).
I dunno. I keep going between "I'm bad" and "I was unlucky" and "My pool sucked" trying to discern why I lost and it's frustrating.

Doing damage to your planeswalker is perfectly acceptable when done safely.I had one guy that whenever I did damage to him, he would take a point or two and then do the rest to his planeswalker.

I think we are in business boys!
Been smashing faces on Cockatrice with the general sligh lists we have been rockin.
Game 1 seems good against all but G/W or maybe Naya as Reckoner into Domri can be a bitch.
The transformational sideboard plan really shores up the bad matchups.
Currently testing
[deck]
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Gore-House Chainwalker
4 Firefist Striker
4 Chandra's Phoenix
4 Lightning Strike
4 Magma Jet
2 Hammer of Purphoros //(could be 1)
4 Chandra, Pyromaster //(could be 3 but I really want her most games)
19 Mountain
3 Mutavault
SB: 3 Boros Reckoner
SB: 3 Stormbreath Dragon
SB: 1 Mutavault
SB: 1 Mountain
SB: 4 Mizzium Mortars
SB: 3 Portent of Betrayal
[/deck]
You get the nice transformational sideboard against GW or the midrange
strategies and 3 Threaten against DD decks. Also Mortors/Reck vs Aggro.
Only thing I really would like to play is Burning Earth but gotta see how that goes.
I am warming up to possibly run Ash Zealot over Ghor-House but I have not tested that. Zealot does play nice with FFS and Burn but has its downsides of 2/2 and no BTE synergy.
Chandra's Pheonix is a house... great with FFS, Chandra, and there has not been many fliers out there.
FFS is also amazing right now, especially with a Chandra out

Cheap. How are the prices of RDW cards looking from this set atm?
4 Satyr - $4
4 Cackler - $1-2
4 BTE - $2
4 GHC - $1
4 Striker - $1
4 Phoenix - $4
All rough estimates, but: Depends on which build. Chandra-less AiR with Fanatic at the top end shouldn't cost more than like 70ish, Firedrinkers being your main expense (5ish? I haven't checked).
It is a good time to play mountains.[/quote:

Guys the prices are:
Firedrinker Satyr is only @ $2, not $4 or $5.
FireFist Striker @ $0.5
Chandra's Phoenix @ $2
and btw i am ready for the new standard, i already have playsets Chandra, Pyromaster and Mutavault.
i just have to wait for release date then buy playsets Firedrinker Satyr and i am all ready to burns everything to crisp

Well, and I got the chance to buy either Kuroda Boros without Chandras and Mutavaults OR RDW with 2 Chandras and 2 Mutavaults. Not sure which one will be better deal, as I suspect Kuroda to really have friggin amazing matchup against Aggro. Big guys (who are not swingy enough for me to be that scared of threaten), lots of effective burn and sweep, generally being grindy as fuck.

Ain't nobody got time for 4 mana.
I think in this style of deck, maximizing BTE is worth neglecting Ashley.
I've also converted to the hammer. Shit is 100% awesome all the time. If you where to play Ash in this list, you'd probably cut a Chandra, hammer, chainwalker, and striker which honestly doesn't sound that bad to me, though the biggest appeal of this type of deck seems like Striker, at least for me.
I'm also curious if Portent betrayel is the threaten you want. Yeah, scry 1, but ideally, you're threaten is killing them and in that case I'd want Traitrous instinct. Either that, or I'd just run vanilla act of treason since it's cheaper. Granted, if the main target is Des demon, the scry is probably relevant assuming they have other guys on board since they'd just sac something to tap the demon and you'd be getting maximum value out of your threaten.

I would think if my opponent had a Demon and another creature and I couldn't swing for lethal I'd just steal the other creature and sac it to the Demon trigger precombat.

@Kuroda Boros being bad v. control: See my sideboard notes in the boros thread. Solved that problem.

Kaze--
Suga borked the addy--it's http://www.mtgotraders.com/
You can't "buy" anything directly on MTGO other than tickets, packs, sealed event kits and so on.; the tickets are the medium of commerce on-site. To buy something from someone, you "trade" tickets that you bought or traded for. Win packs, trade in for value in tickets, etc.
With MTGOTraders, you can either purchase cards directly on their site or buy credits on their site that can be used with their bots inside MTGO. Buying directly online is my preferred method, but if they don't have what I want in stock, I buy the creds and go look on the bots. Either way you get a small percentage discount from them as they sell creds for like 95 cents on the dollar and if you use paypal you can add it as a coupon to get a discount on the site.
Either way, you have to add MTGOTRADERS and/or the bots
they have as buddies in MTGO. Once you make a purchase on their website, you go open a chat with MTGOTRADERS and state that you're there to pick up an order (assuming their online, which they usually are). Someone will chat back to you and eventually you'll get a popup telling you that MTGOTRADERS wants to start a trade session with you. Click okay and the trade interface opens; you should then see all the cards you ordered by set. You have to double-click each card to take it, so if you have 4 Reckoners for example you have to double-click the pile 4 times. Once you get all your cards clicked, you hit the button at the top of the interface to accept the trade, then hit the new button that pops up to finalize. You then get shown a window with all your new cards in it, and the folks at MTGO with chat back to you and sign off. If you get confused at all in process, just chat a question to the MTGO folks as they are always there watching over the process and ready to help.
Credits is a little
different in that you have creds attached to your account and then open a trade session with one of their bots. You double click a card from their inventory to take it, and the chat shows you what the card costs. If you don't want to buy it, you can put it back. The tricky thing with creds is that you have to have enough in your account to buy what you want or no go...you can't up your creds in the middle of the trade.
This is far from a perfect description, but you'll catch on quick. Go to MTGO Traders and read their FAQ and such for more specific info.

Glad to help, brother...ham showed me the ropes when I was getting started. I also hope to get time to put in more online play this season...it's frustrating to put in the time and $$$ to build decks and then not have time to use them.I appreciate you taking the time to explain, photo. Thank you.

I don't understand why you'd want Anger at all. You're basically a green deck with real removal vs. little aggro decks anyway; it's really unnecessary.
Also it exiles most of your own creatures, kinda huge nonbo.
+1 Chandra +1 Hammer id say.
