What about Flamespeaker Adept at the 3 spot? It's probably a different deck but I love the idea of him being able to attack through just about everything in the format while holding a spark jolt, magma jet, or shoot even a spite of mogis.

I love the look of the Mardu decks so far. Love butcher, love the synergy with the token generators. The charm looks a bit lackluster against more efficient token generators and Stoke, plus the third mode seems like it will whiff often. I haven't actually played with it obviously so perhaps the vers...

Something like this maybe--haven't tested and decided against Ulcerate . [deck] Creatures (25) 4 Rakdos Cackler 2 Gnarled Scarhide 4 Spike Jester 3 Thrill-Kill Assassin 3 Spiteful Returned 2 Mogis's Warhound 3 Herald of Torment 1 Lifebane Zombie 3 Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch Spells (12) 3 Thoughtseize...

Anyone messed around with adding Stoke the Flames to these lists? Seems like it would give the late reach we need to close out the game. Also, Ulcerate would be good tempo inclusion.

I would leave them in. It is another durable threat. Also, what would you be bringing in? In my list, the only thing that would come in would be Chandra and maybe Wear/Tear if they are still on an Eidolon plan.
I was trying -4YP$, -1 Mortars, -1 Shock, +3 Flamespeaker, +2 Chandra, +1 Wear.

Is it correct to drop YP$ in the mirror? My thoughts are he basically reads 1/1 for 2 mana in the mirror, I still see a lot searing blood, and he and his tokens are weak to Chandra. At the same time, he is a must deal with threat that will divert burn from the face. I like Phoenix because it forces ...

Since Gryff is good against a large portion of the meta, is it wrong to think that maybe it deserves a slot or two in the main?

I definitely feel like the underdog in the mirror when they are running eidelon and I'm not. For those of you running lists without any eidelon, whats your gameplan for this matchup?

I haven't really played against this deck. Just wondering what the strategy is with BTE. Say you have one in your opener, do you slow play it until you can chain a fanatic off of it, since otherwise you would just be wasting mana? If you have multiples in the opener I'm assuming you would just chain...

Not sure why you think searing blood is bad vs monsters (apparition is bad because every creature they play from t2 onwards outclasses it, which is why 1 drops, or ash zealots are bad in this matchup)).... I have never entered that matchup thinking I needed to be the aggressor. I am probably wrong....

I am sure it is close, a lot of this comes down to player preference. Here is how I would tweak your SB decisions: Bx: +1 Banishing Light +1 FotF -2 Mortars Ux Devo: Take out the other 2 Boros Charm for +1 FotF +1 Mutavault Control: Seems fine. Small Aggro: Chandra Wrecks X/1 decks. Monsters: I wou...

Master of the Feast looks like a great card but it is going to make the 3-drop decisions even harder. Not necessarily a bad problem to have though.

Would SotP be enough to turn the mirror favorable? He is a lot easier to cast and their charms and helixes would only do 3.

RE: Silence

Thanks for the responses. I was thinking of it kind of as a replacement to CttR that has synergy with YP. But like you both pointed out, if you don't see it early it is much worse.

Is Silence a card that could work in the burn shell? It seems like stalling most creature decks a turn from advancing the board would be game over to this deck. It could be useful against control as well. I won't lie that I have always wanted to try it but it would need to fit into a creature shell...

I have been messing with a blue splash and it has been really fun to play. There are a lot of card interactions with Faerie Impostor that help our endgame. For example, bouncing a Mogis and recasting for another alpha strike or bouncing a blocked Spiteful Returned and bestowing it on the Faerie. I h...

I'm having problems with esper aggro. The lyevs slow me down too much before they get demons and lbz out to ruin my alpha strikes.

I have been testing essentially Conley's list. I opted to test a 2nd pack rat in place of the Nighthowler. I am reconsidering my pack rat aversion and rather now just thinking that 4 was too many for this deck but 2 provides an excellent second win condition. I also prefer the very minor change of 3...

I like the list a lot. It is pretty similar to where I was going with my list. I don't like the single Nighthowler so I'll probably test a 2nd pack rat or a gift.

As a sidenote, I noticed that one of the main reasons for losing was flood at 24 land. I noticed a lot of the recent lists dropping it to 23 land, which I did as well.

I may even test 22.

Interesting. I dropped pack rat for spiteful returned, which has been a pretty nasty card. I like the versatility similar to Herald in that it can be a 2 or a 4 drop, which the deck lacked. TKA, Seer, and a couple DD may just be better though. With 4 spiteful and 4 herald, however, Agent of the fate...

I like Thrill-Kill better in this deck than Pain Seer. TK is a much better top deck both offensively and defensively. Pain Seer has gotten me cards without a doubt but the curve just doesn't seem low enough to do much with all the extra cards. I frequently just don't have the mana to cast multiple s...

First time poster so I don't expect my opinion to be worth much, but I've been having a lot of success with the list below. Spiteful Returned is infinitely better than you would expect pre-testing. It does a lot of work. Thrill-Kill is always an over performer. I'm still testing the 3 drop but so fa...
