The forum is slowly dying though, I had to upgrade the server and I barely got the site to stay alive, this phpbb3 version is just too old

OK solved the spam issue, turns out I just had to delete the cache. duh

I'm afraid this phpbb3 version is quite old, updating it would make us lose all the tweaks and customizations and there is no motivation to port these to the new version.

We've been around since 2012, almost ten years... We're slowly dying too, I'm impressed the server has made it this long too.

I took the time to clean up around, we are down to about 713 legit registered users after I deleted all the 18,000 spam accounts around here.

In principle with the new registration plugin we should no longer have waves of spambots registering, just one or two every month, which s OK I guess.

So, anyone want to recruit new people? I just took some time and fixed registration + added new spambot countermeasures, might be worth a try... The front page needs looking at.
